Just Stop Oil protests

Have you responded to this because you are a gammon or a gammon rights activist?

;)

Obviously.

I’m just amazed that the same several posters can post non stop in here about stuff they hate without ever getting angry themselves apparently? ;-)

I really don't care. The protests have not directly affected me and are unlikely to do so because of my location in the UK.

I do however sympathise with their cause - only a complete fuckwit would campaigning for a more polluted overheated world that threatens all human life.

If the actions of a few people disrupt a couple of high profile events and get the gammon foaming at the mouth so what? Job done. Like just about everything thats wrong it needs people to sit down at a table and discuss their problems to thrash out compromises - they all end with compromise but with the total pricks in charge of the UK right now nothing has progressed for a few years.

I mean the key issue is that they don’t seem to actually know what their cause is……protesting for stopping any new oil entering the market is as logical as protesting to have the country floated down to the equator on a yoghurt pot so we get nicer weather.

As said by other people, I think a lot would actually support them if they were protesting outside the offices of oil companies every day, but disrupting ‘normal’ people just makes the majority think you’re an absolute **** and turns them off from supporting you.

What exactly do you think protesting outside offices of oil companies would achieve?

Nothing. Same as they’re achieving now, because their ‘demand’ is not possible.

So sitting outside the office of oil companies would be a net benefit as the majority of the general public wouldn’t be actively against you.

How do we know they are not doing that or have already done that? Our Tory locked press wouldn't report that would they now?

Did your local Tesco or Sainsbury’s get restocked since you last went? If so then they’re failing spectacularly as everything in there is in virgin plastics

I've not read every post in this thread but I guess I'll throw in my two penn'orth:

I think they have every right to protest but why don't they protest outside the offices of the oil companies they are protesting about? Or even inside.
Or why don't they protest outside Parliament or at the end of Downing Street?
Somewhere where the people who make the decisions are? The ordinary members of the public who they are disrupting will, quite naturally, get annoyed if they can't go about their lawful business because of the protesters. The decision makers are laughing all the way to the bank. JMHO :-)
