Big business is controlled by government.

Government is controlled by electors.

Just Stop Oil have one aim - which is to get the government to stop the granting of new fossil fuel licenses. They’re not pointing the finger at you or anyone else - unless you’re giving the government a free pass to ignore the environment.

I am genuinely with you mate I believe more should be done by the people who should be doing it, and we should be disrupting the people at the top of the food chain a lot more.

We have to first change the fact that big business runs government because government certainly doesn't look like it runs big business.

I still stand by my opinion that targeting the public will not do anything other than piss them off, most of them are only doing it in-between yoga classes and visits to Holland & Barrett anyway.

Big business is controlled by government.

Government is controlled by electors.

Big business and the Banks control government and politicians.

Just ask Corbyn or Truss what happens when you don’t have their blessings for your plans.

I really don't know if this is a reputable source and the data sheet is a bit long but is it accurate?

Per Capita is important here.

86% of Iceland’s electricity comes from renewable sources. That’s superb and imagine if the whole world could reach that by 2030?! However, Iceland is actually higher in the table than China for fossil fuels burnt per head of population.

Each of us individually add more to the world’s carbon footprint than each individual Chinese citizen.

Plus a great deal of the products we buy here in Britain are made in China. So we point to China burning the most fossil fuels yet we all add to China’s numbers due to the amount of goods that are made there that we buy. Plus, a lot of the things we use and discard like plastics and metals have ended up in China to be treated and managed for decades (although China say they will be putting an end to this as they don’t want to be the world’s dumping ground).

So each of us contribute to China’s numbers.

I really don't know if this is a reputable source and the data sheet is a bit long but is it accurate?

It'd be interesting to see how the protesters would get on if they tried pulling their stunts in China.

That data is also 7 years old, as far as I can tell.
I don't know if something significant happened to affect UK emissions in 2015-16.

Obviously 6% reductions looks good, but context is everything.

Our and other major economies’ contributions to China’s emissions also highlight the obvious shortcomings with any simplistic net zero targets.

Diminishing your industrial base through uncompetitive environmental taxes and increasing your dependence on less polluting forms of fossil fuels may help an individual country move towards a net zero target, but its vulnerability to external shocks increases in turn, as recent events have shown.

I‘m definitely in the self-interested arseholes club and indeed, by your criteria, the **** club.

Difference is, I‘m ok admitting it whereas a lot of people pretend to care about shit that they either can’t influence or doesn't really affect them.

To answer your question, they’re not arsed are they. But as a self-interested **** I’m not going to wait patiently while some prick sits glued to the road or throws paint at me.

I do actually care about climate change though, because I like wildlife. I’ve even volunteered for local conservation groups and am an RSPB member. But I don’t think these protesters are going about things in a way that will change anything.
Governments need to be constantly reminded and pushed because everyone knows they will promise plenty and deliver little if people leave them to it.

I really don't care if either you or I get held up briefly.

Think about what you are saying, you think a guy is a prick because there is a monumentally slim chance you might be late for work once because he is concerned about the planet we live on.

I think we know who the prick is.
