Did the Wimbledon fans throw strawberries at them? Do that at a football or test match and they will get a shoeing.
I’ve always said that inconveniencing and pissing off the general public is wholly the wrong way to go about a protest when you want to get the general public on your side to increase the voice and raise the pressure.
I’m quite ‘Green’ in my outlook and think we need to reduce use of carbons and plastics radically and to increase use of renewables.
However, I can’t stand the way these fuckers go about their protest. All they’re doing is alienating the general public away from the cause and they won’t make one bit of difference to the big wigs who’ll be watching on, laughing and pointing while saying, ‘look at these cunts’.
Also, one of my biggest pet hates is littering and graffiti, yet these fuckers think it’s alright to go around littering everywhere, throwing paint over things and scrawling graffiti all over bridges and city centres, with their oil based paint!
That oil isn't being burned to produce greenhouse gas emissions though.I believe the premise is basically "how can we brazenly enjoy our lives when the planet is on fire?!?" hence the targeting of sporting events.
The fact is unless the powers that be take the necessary steps there is next to nothing the lowly citizen can do about it. "reducing your carbon footprint" is a buzzterm designed to make people feel better about their contributions. That doesn't mean to say you shouldn't still do it, but it's not going to have the global impact they think it does that industry, production and energy companies reducing their footprint would do, but they never target them.
I'd like to see the look on their faces when they realise wind turbines require oil for lubrication... and it's a lot.
Still has to be produced, pumped out the ground, which does contribute to the emissions and is still harmful to the environment. Otherwise what do you do with it once it's used? That oil isn't being burned to produce greenhouse gas emissions though.
