Their actions will have zero consequences on how this world revolves.

We need more than just the UK to stop further exploration, production and licensing of fossil fuel etc...

Go and protest in Russia or China and see where that gets them. My money is on more than a good hiding, that's for sure.

Or just maybe align to a political party and see what level of support they really have.

Without changing the mindset of these horrific dictatorships as you say, the UK could be "oil free" and it won't make a jot of difference to the world climate, without the backing of the countries mentioned.

This is a silly argument, because if every western country keeps saying 'oh its not our problem', then it becomes everyones problem.

How about leading by example and setting the tone for the way forward? Instead of hiding behind others.
