JSO blocking an ambulance with blue lights and on a life or death call out. I support the right to peacful protest, I dont support blocking ambulances or common vandalism.
When was this?
Just Stop Oil activists 'block ambulance on blue lights' on Waterloo Bridge - as police make arrests
The Metropolitan Police released pictures of the incident in central London and said they estimate more than 40 people were arrested.news.sky.com
So the protest was on the other side of the street and traffic was moving fine the other way until police officers dragged protesters into the clear side of the road to arrest them.
Which sounds a lot like the police blocked the ambulance, despite the protesters going to lengths to keep one side of the road open to traffic in case of emergencies, which is why the driver asked the police to let him through instead of the protesters.
The Myth of the Blocked Ambulance
Jet McDonald explores how a belief that environmental protesters are blocking ambulances is used to justify anti-protest legislation and divert us from the climate emergencybylinetimes.com
A good article on how the home secretary and police keep pushing the lie of the blocked ambulance to pass more and more draconian laws about freedom of speech & the right to protest.
It also points out that the thing that's actually taking ambulances off the street - the fact that 1 in 4 of them has to wait hours to drop off their patients in A&E because of the government's cuts to the NHS.
It's over a year old but still stands. You can think JSO are a bunch of silly middle class tree huggers with nothing better to do, but be aware that someone is trying very hard to make you believe things about them that just aren't true.
One day one of these protesters is going to get a well deserved kick in and maybe the police should maybe help the general public and move them on and not arrest the employed trying to get to work
