Kaka said: "I was very flattered by Manchester City's interest in January but it is just a project at the moment. And with projects sometimes you don't know how long the investment will be there for.

"Lots of smaller clubs have periods of spending big money. But suddenly the investment stops when the owner decides to do something else. Or sometimes it stops because of other reasons like a failing economy.

"Things can be great one moment and not so great the next moment. The organisation can collapse like a pack of playing cards. I felt the time was right for a change and Real Madrid is the club for me.

i said something similair a while back... ADUG had only been on the scene for a matter of months when we tried to sign him, and nobody really understood what they were about. he's right, sometimes the investment does dry up. cragnotti at lazio, walker at blackburn, and more recently the downturn in chelsea's spending prove him right to some extent. in three or four years time things will look very different.

Spot on mate nothing wrong with the article. I will add, we have no history in the eyes of todays superstars - most of them, their parents had not even met since we last won anything. Remember we have won nothing in the age of global TV/News. Lets not get brothered about the press turning sensible quotes into sensationalism.

Nothing really wrong with what he has said there. Looking at the headline I was expecting a lot worse, typical sensationalism bullshit from some wanker who is actually paid for this stuff.

The boy is a puppet. Milan wanted to sell him to us but they faced a massive backlash from their fans, so he towed the party line in January.

Nice bit of preparation to sell him this summer IMO, but as they managed to get 40 million pounds less than they could have got from us they've got to put a positive spin on it and so has he. He didn't want to leave Milan in January and I suspect he didn't want to leave now.

History is all well and good but it's the future that matters. The future is ours. He talks about long term investment, clearly this is taken very much out of context or the reporter has used some literary licence. Our owners are planning the future long term. He worries if the investment dries up due to economic conditions, well he may not have noticed in his pampered life but the world is in financial meltdown yet our owners can make 1.5Bn profit selling their shares in Barclays literally overnight. Can Gillete & Hicks, can the Glazers. Or is it Real Madrid that are out on a limb borrowing huge amounts gambling to return to glory days again. Take a look at what your own castle is built upon Mr Kaka. More of sand than our concrete. RSC claims in the press to have spoken to Sheikh Mansour, I'm sure that a proposed deal like that to bring Kaka to City would have seen him being courted by the Sheikh in which instance their vision, belief and committement I cannot see anyone turning us down. Probably sensational journalism, misquote or the words of a fool if truly spoken. I would love RM to come up against us sooner rather than later with Ireland putting in a masterclass making bucktooth look "history".

With thier line" sulky star Robinho" they are having a sly dig.
Every time i see photo's of Robinho he is always smiling not sulky. Saw photo of him in last weeks zoo/nuts magazine running away from Elano after bursting a bag of flour and eggs over Elano due to it being Elano's birthday
