Nunes is shit

He’s had loads of chances to prove himself and failed miserably

An absolute waste of £50m and a complete panic buy after not getting Paqueta
Think he's still 2nd best in goal involvements for us this season. Playing out of position.

It's a forlorn hope that Pep will put him in midfield, but I don't see why he can't step in as RB. How can he do worse there than Walker and he's currently faster

Back at hotel with pizza, crap performance even more crap was that idiot of a fan at the bottom of the stand stood up swearing and gesturing to Kyle Walker when they came over and thanked us.
For whatever gripes people have with the team you never do that IMO. Annoyed what has been a good trip apart from the result.

Onto Sunday, keep the faith blues.

We dominated the game tonight without being anything like the standard we're accustomed to. Seems that every mistake is punished and at the other end nothing bobbles our way when opposing defenders make mistakes. We'll make the play-offs and by the time of those games, which incidentally will be against another struggling side, we'll have addressed a few things. Not a single one of these other struggling sides will want us in the play-offs.
Agree in part, we did dominate the first half, but some of our players just gave up in the second half, especially after they took the lead.

My biggest issue tonight was that some of these player have won so much at City, when it gets difficult they basically down tools once they go behind, and that has to be a serious worry for Pep, watching him on the sidelines tonight in the second half, I thought he looked lost with it all, a worry for us all.

But this isn't a bad period which has issues that can't be foreseen.

Even last season for something as simple as needing to score a goal we would have Alvarez as another option. We sold him and went with 1 striker. It's hardly great hindsight that if you sell half the strikers you may struggle to score goals at certain points.

Defensively you have 5 cbs needing to play 3 positions as you don't have a left back. 2 of the cbs are always injured for at least a third of the season. If Dias, Akanji or Gvardiol get injured too you are fucked.

Both defence and up top were a problem just waiting to happen
*and midfield - Rodri pointed out how knackered he was and unsustainable his amount of playing time was

And you haven't even mentioned the midfield…..

People may have had fears, but over the last 9 years those fears haven't really been proven right.

This season though, injuries have killed us, specifially Rodri's. It's as simple as that.

The club didn't bring in an adequate replacement.

The club couldn't have foreseen a season ending injury however.

Alvarez's sale is only looking a mistake as other players in the squad aren't scoring at the moment. KDB and Foden have hardly played. The club also couldn't foresee a bad injury to Bobb.

He’s played 2 games in his Central Midfield position this season and we've won both games.. Had some good games out wide also. He’s certainly not the second coming of Yaya but have you seen the state of whats going on currently in our midfield? Got to be worth a try, cos what we have been doing in the last 6/8 weeks is frankly killing us!! Tonight 2 goals just the latest examples, in a very long line of amateur hour… Look at the state of it!!
He’s fucking rubbish. There’s too many mediocre players at the moment that city fans are too happy to give a chance to. We have to be ruthless to be a world class team. The likes of Nunes, Savio etc aren’t good enough

Could take as little as 2/3 very good players.

Most probably 3/4 windows.

Maybe having a small squad will actually help us rebuild faster.

I’m glad the club backed pep with a new contract. Nothing says loyalty than a new contract in turbulent times.

Walker
Ederson
Stones
Kdb
Bernie
Rodders
Gundo
Phil

The above have gave us some fantastic moments and have not been adequately replaced.

Grealish
Doku
Savio maybe harsh
Kova
Rico maybe harsh
Gvardiol

All the above were either brought in to supplement the main players or provide adequate competition. In evidence, this group of players are not a patch on the previous.

Look at the difference in quality.

The clubs recruitment has failed massively. Not going after better quality and hoping pep can keep on performing. He is good, got a tune out of some good players.

However, he can’t get a tune out of inferior players. Unfortunately that’s what we have now.

We got complacent.

Identify the mistakes made and start a ruthless cull. It won’t be pretty but necessary.

The old players can’t do it anymore and the new players are not good enough.

We dominated possession but only created 1 or 2 chances

It always felt like they would probably get the first goal and when they did we’d be fucked..

Too many mediocre players, too many old slow players, too many injury prone players, too many players who’s form has dropped off a cliff

This needs a squad refresh and rebuild of the likes never seen before and it’s piss poor planning to have not seen it coming
