Juventus (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

It’s going to be really difficult to get players out of clubs in January. Can’t see us signing more than two players, if they did would they make a difference with how bad everyone else is playing. This club World Cup won’t be great for the club neither, players need a summer off but they will be still playing in deep into July potentially.

The new PSR rules have changed the winter transfer window and teams now have to balance their books or risk punishment for next season.

I think 2 or 3 world-class players may be asking a bit too much, but we need some strength in midfield. a workhorse type player who does not need to be top-shelf but is good enough to hold us together and bites, Also a fullback with pace and good at defending again does not need to be world class.

I think we have enough world-class in the squad but need fresh faces and pace and some bite in the middle of the park

The team was always going to have a drop off at some point.

Our team just won 4 titles in a row. That's never been done before.

The players have run themselves into the ground achieving it.

As well as being knackered, injuries have decimated us.

We've lost the best player in the world. Tell me a team that this wouldn't affect?

Pep hasn't fucked up this season at all. It's astonishing that anyone would use such language about the best manager we've ever had.

So yes, you're flapping.

We can't win every single year.

It's a shame that instead of supporting this team, given what they have done for us, many on here have turned on them instead.
Is that what you call this? A drop off? I salute you Don Corleone...

Was hoping Anfield was going to be rock bottom, sadly think Sunday and Villa the week after will be. Get these two games out the way and then Hopefully a January signing or two and we can start turning this around. As much as it pains me, While we have Gundo starting along with Walker then I'll not be confident.
We need a couple of dour 0-0s to re calibrate, but Kamikaze Pep and his open all hours tactics are killing us week after week

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end. It just wasn’t to be.
Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans. We need to still hold our heads up high. We will come back again. We are MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD.

Just keep trying, keep giving your all. We’re behind you all the way.
Thank you.

They actually did give in though, to be fair.

Shite really but not unexpected at this point

Also, id rather start one of the young lads out of the academy than Gundo now. He's shot to bits. He'll always be respected for his time here but he's finished.

I'd rather start someone who can at least put themselves about a bit.

We’ve managed to put together the slowest smallest and least physical / athletic team in both the PL and CL.

Said a month ago that December would see the chickens come home to roost with this car crash of a season. Gonna get a whole lot worse before it gets better !

We're like watching a fucking pinball machine at the moment
Ping, ping , ping side to side in the middle, fuck all when the ball is up top and as soon as it comes down our end straight through the fucking flippers
Dunno whether to laugh or cry atm ..at least I was there last Wednesday..uff..

Top quality players from this list:
Ake
Dias
Grealish
Alvarez
Haaland
Akanji
Gvardiol
Gundogan

Savinho and Doku too early to tell, they have potential for top quality for sure.

Torres been great business. So been Kovacic and Gundogan return.

In short - you have made one of the worst substantively posts ever. Congratulations
Ake is a squad player who does a good job. Alvarez was a quality young player that wasn't replaced. Grealish is never £100mil, Akanji was bought as a good squad player, Gvardiol fine we can wait and see but saying Gundogan's return has been anything but a sad sight to witness is hilarious

He’d be glad of a rest probably.

The guy didn’t come back for this, he’s playing every minute of every game, it’s fookin mental.

And “respected” is putting it mildly. Gundogan is up there as a contender for our best ever player.

Couldn't agree more

We 'won couple of weeks ago" and 'may win a game on Sunday" doesn't sound like we're still in a title race.
A spark to get a few results going and a platform to build from. Juve's keeper made a brilliant stop and if that went in who knows what would have been the outcome. It is fine margins this season for us. Especially the Sporting Lisbon game where we collapsed after having plenty of chances to kill the game. We lost both Ake and Akanji in the Forest game where we looked like we were defensively sorting things out in that game.

Those are fair enough points.

Much better than some going through every player and saying they're crap.
I’m of the opinion that no player at this level is crap

Although like most I have said they are at times

It’s about putting the work in now, fighting for the shirt etc

It’s ok lads, Captain chuckles is here

It's not the price you pay for winning 4 on the trot.

We brought Gundogan back this summer because the club are fucking useless in the market. Whether that be penny pinching or their inability to buy any quality player without a release clause.

You can't use injuries especially to Stones and Ake as excuses. They are always injured. In nearly 10 years how many times has Stones played more than 40 games a season?
Injuries are a reason. The club isn’t useless in the market. Gundo didn’t return to play every game. Top players won’t move to sit on the bench and what was the club supposed to do, fuck Stones and Ake off and slot in some other outstanding defender?

Chelsea and the rags bought indiscriminately, spent a fuck load. We follow a different path of a smaller squad because that’s seemingly what the club and Pep believe in. That model has broken records.

I really think that may be the plan ? why keep being in the Champions League is we are not good enough to win it
The bigger picture is the bread and butter in the league right now and getting a top 4 place

We never looked like wanting to win tonight, right from the kick-off it was ok just ghost and get it over with
That is not the plan

CL money goes a huge way to balancing the books.

Think of our huge turnover and then the tiny profit that is made.

No CL next year and no squad overhaul.

The players have retired.

Won everything and couldn’t be arsed running anymore or winning duels.

So they sleep walk around the pitch and use excuses.

Football teams can have highs and lows but what this lot are doing is completely unacceptable. We know you won everything and have done an amazing job but football is the here and now. You had the plaudits not grow a pair and get on with it.
