Kaka City Performance Clause

if true it would make a mockery of the joining an exciting project theory, obviously he expects us to be performing in less than 18 months.

Might be the right time to change the manager to achieve this.

Easily solved.....if we don't make champs league in 2/3 years then as long as he has played 75% of the games & scored 20+ goals in the qualifying games (i.e. the league) then he can move for a minimum fee of x million pounds/euro's/camels...

Incentive for both sides & prevents him from "swinging the lead" & forcing a move for himself.

Obviously the 75%, 20+ & x million are variables open to negotiation.

WTF it doesn't mean anything and TBH it's a completely fair clause. We're telling him where we want to be, he's saying put your money where your mouth is. It's doesn't mean he's not going to try, for christ sake I despair sometimes.

Fine, if:

1) City doesn't make CL in 1.5 years
2) Kaka really isn't happy here trying for another season
and
3) Someone will pay 65m

then fine, leave. 35m loss on our part but the increased ability to sign players this summer will be worth it. I would push for a "Top 6 next year, Top 4 the year after" but you can't blame him for wanting to play in the CL again before he's 30.

Anyone who thinks that next season we should be challenging for the title needs to see the Dr as a matter of urgency.
It takes time to build a squad capable of this.

Why not? We get in some of the players we're linked with we could give it a good go.

If Kaka is enjoying the team, sees progress and potential, and wants to stay then he won't be forced out if we don't make CL. Realistically if he put in a transfer request he'd get one anyway - this only puts a fixed price on what bid City would have to accept.

we will have the added benefit of no other competitions to be in. Just EPL FAcup , League cup. We will have players capable of winning the league by then.
The other teams will be needing to rest key players for CL or eufa/(which we still have outside chance of getting in.
