It was only 18 months ago that we were in for Sanchez who was 28/29 at the time. It's not worked out for him at Old Toilet, but that isn't because of the age he was bought.
If you're good enough, & we can afford it, a player us young or old enough. At the prices mooted, Koulibaly's transfer fee would cost us £20m per season over the lifetime of his possible contract.
We're unlikely to get a £20m player for one season who could be as effective as Koulibaly. This is how we need to view our players, in respect to what we can afford.
