Kalidou Koulibaly

Is he? Always plays hard ball, weeks of negotiation then pays what the seller wanted in the first place or says too much and leaves it too late to sign an alternative.
Give us some examples of that mate please. Struggling to think of any recent signings in which we have overpaid to get the deal done or if we have gone for an alternative it has gone badly.

I think the waiting game would have worked if
1) ADL would have some semblance of gentleman's spirit. Not going back on his words and respecting the wishes of his players and well showing some respect to the club he is dealing with
2) Two months of break where even if KK is a late signing he can easily bed in a month or so

With the new season just a month away we can't deal with ifs and whats. So i prefer we tell Napoli to do one and move on to whatever was next on the list. It is not going to be the end of the world

Does he decide the budget, sure in the Amazon film , Soriano told Txiki the fee was too high for Van Dijk.

Except it wouldn’t be too late with a Sevilla targets buyout established. Txiki’s quite experienced at this by now.

Maguire, we were in the mix right to the wire, glad we dodged the bullet but it left us no time of options to sign an alternative.
Mendy, Mahrez & KDB long negotiations but still paid the asking price but on the latter a bargain.

I am not criticizing Txiki just saying we usually pay what the selling club wanted in the first place.

I would rather comment on the players we normally target. Most of the players are those who are the next big things in football and hence the prices quoted are high.
We hardly target unpolished gems with zero competition where the deal would be very straight forward. Like the LB liverpool signed. Never heard the name before. But 11m would be a great price if he turns out half as good as Robertson.

Jesus & Torres apart, I would totally agree.

I'm not sure he's the answer but he's certainly not the answer at 90M.

Think we've pulled out and will look elsewhere, could be that arse of a Chairman comes back to us with a cut price deal as I'd imagine Napoli could do with the money with no CL next season.

If we find better value elsewhere then great, if we end up picking him up for 45-50m also great.

He is better than Robertson, he is also better than Mendy, Angelino and Zinchenko, but that is gone and hopefully we will get the Real player out on loan.

Don't want this guy at all, £90M is way too much for a player who needs to adapt to a new country and a new language and a new manager with unique requirements, and will be over 30 by the time he understands what is being asked of him.

I don't care how good he is at doing what is asked of him at his current club, I'd rather keep Stones.

Speaks English. But yes, 90M is not realistic.
