Kalidou Koulibaly

You're asking for a source of Leroy leaving for a profit

Yes because the figures I'm looking at show we've just sold him for £6m less than we paid for him but we'll possibly be up £8m if he meets the criteria for all add-ons.

It was a fairly simple request in case what I was reading was wrong. Not sure why you got your knickers in a twist.

45m + 10m, we bought him for 37m.

In accounting terms, he had a book value this summer of about £7.4m, so we've made an accounting profit of £38m which helps with the summer spend and FFP.

Yeah if you're looking at Transfermarkt, that figure includes addons, which is why he appears to have been sold for less.

You can talk about bargin hunting all you like but you're just exaggerating a weak argument to try and make it look stronger, when no one is advocating bargain hunting at all, just a desire to retain the "value for money" long term approach to transfers we've done very successfully over the last few years.
What bollocks. If they’re good then we don’t sell them if we can help it. Resale value doesn’t come into it, look at Kompany, Silva and Yaya. How much did we recoup on them?

If a player stays at the club till they retire, then surely that's fantastic value for money?

It's all about balance. We can afford the odd player like Koulibaly, who won't be around for ten years, and likely won't command a fee when he leaves, but only because we buy a lot of young players who can be sold for a fee, or even better will stay for a decade.

Come on, you can't expect someone who has seen how active you were in the Sane thread, how worked up you were about the valuations being talked about, to genuinely think you didn't know what he finally went for. Apologies for the sarcasm, I genuinely thought you were just being a bit of a cock for the sake of it.

No problem mate, obviously just crossed wires.

But yeah, I genuinely didn't know the fees and don't know where the most reliable figures are found.
