I think Pep tried that and saw it really didn’t work.

Personally, I think he’ll stick with him as a rotation option at centre back with Garcia & Nico leaving and our new signing and Aké with Laporte making up the numbers and one of Tosin or THB staying as the 5th centre back. I think we need the numbers there.

With more defensive solidity & good energy up front we’ll see the best of Rodri/Gundogan/Fernandinho & I’ve a suspicion we’ll see Gundo playing one of the 8 roles in games as a rotation for Kev.

Not being funny, but i am not surprised this comment has received no likes so far...

We are aiming to compete at the top end of the table alongside Liverpool... are you trying to get us to compete alongside the likes of Burnley and Newcastle instead?

With different players you can make systems work that hitherto haven't. For example, Ake and Laporte can play left back whereas Otamendi can not.

It's failed because of personnel. Remember when it was Aguero and Jesus together, along with Mendy and Walker, and Danilo in a back 3? It looked fine. Now we can go back 3 given the pace of Aké, and possibly Koulibaly if he signs. Laporte in middle, and Cancelo/Walker along with Mendy as wingbacks.

The issue is that people only recognize it when there is an extra CB in there PLUS two FBs!

Sadly, they don’t realize that if we play that way, we lose either a midfielder or a forward, and completely change our shape.

KK is going to turn into another Van Dyke or Maguire...not willing to pay the extra few million and walk away or get gazumped AGAIN!

If we are going to pay stupid money, just give it to RB Leipzig and convince Nagelsman to let Upemecano go! At least then we have a young player who can play and stay for a decade!

Getting sick and tired of fucking around with ADL!
