Kalidou Koulibaly

The COVID-19 pandemic is likely to cost club football $14 billion this year worldwide, around one third of its value, a leading official at global football body Fifa said on Wednesday.

One of the reasons that our transfer situation has changed during the summer.?

Good.

I hope they all have to get changed in a shed, apart from us.

So their asking fee is 80m euros? I can understand why we wouldn't want to pay that. That's 16m euros (per season) + wages of 10m+ (per season) over a 5-year contract. With no re-sale value after his contract expires at the age of 34.

He would probably have to win us multiple CL's to be worth the investment. Can see why we would look elsewhere.

Why's that
It’s only a few weeks since the last season ended, unceremoniously, and we’ve not addressed the key problem areas in the team. Not sure players who were horribly out of form will miraculously find it and so have a sense that last season’s inconsistency could likely be repeated.
Not being pessimistic just realistic.

Just seen a Napoli fan posted they're assuming a loss of 150-200mil Euros for 19/20 and 20/21. Not sure if that includes the Oshimen transfer. Koulibaly could save them 80mil and 36mil in wages. He's 29 and they're not in the Champions League. How are we failing to negotiate so badly?
