Kalidou Koulibaly

that we can absolutely agree on ;-)

I am the same with some supporters, wish we could unload -)
We cannot pay 95 million for a 29 yr old defender, and it is not my money.
In fact we could not pay 50 million for a player that age, I am surprised so few people cannot see that.

I don't get why some of this forum has an axe to grind with him.
It’s completely bizarre. If you ever listened to him he clearly cares a lot about what he does, owns up to mistakes when he makes them, and makes a real effort to interact with supporters as much as possible and for that people on here love to shit on him. It’s really stupid.

Personally I don't dislike the guy, I don't even know him haha! He could be lovely for all I know.

I just really don't rate his insider knowledge. Obviously he has more knowledge than most but I'm just not convinced. Plus when he was at Goal (I haven't followed him since he left) I just happened to really not enjoy his columns.

I've noticed Mendy does this too. Different topic but I wish he could get a break from supporters.

He only turned 29 a week ago, we could easily get 5 years top quality service from him. 95M? The reports the other day were suggesting 72M.

Off course we could buy a younger CB for 50M who's not fit to lace Koulibaly's boots.

I personally don’t see the obsession with only wanting to sign players who are younger than 26.

Stones and Laporte should have been our long-term future but it hasn’t really worked out that way. Also, having the right mix of experience and peak players allows the youngsters to get a shot.

Foden would have probably left the club for first team football if it wasn’t for Silva’s planned exit.

Brining in a 29 year old in his peak could mean that Garcia’s game time is carefully managed so he spends the next two seasons in the current Foden like role before becoming a regular.

I also couldn’t give a shit about players having a resale value. With our track record of selling players we’d struggle to sell water to a thirsty person in the desert. We’re also not a selling club and Sane shows that resale is not always guaranteed. That said, I’d rather look at players and whether they are value for money as opposed to what they could hypothetically sell for in the future.

he’s right tho,the money they roll in is farcical

I used to think this too but a colleague who's a PSG fan. He explained to me that outside of Mbappe and Neymar they have been very focused on youth development, free signings, cheap signings. City have spread our spending all around the squad but PSG have concentrated it on a few positions.

Watched Upamecano for the last four matches and really don't fancy him one iota. Koulibaly too old for my liking but if he fills in until Garcia steps up the next step and buys THB time then fine. Plenty of centre backs below that - Finlay Burns and CJ Egan-Riley improving rapidly.

I've never doubted his talent it's a question of how many times City can be burnt by that twat Of an owner at Napoli.

PSG wouldnt blink if he wanted an easy life in a two bit League in France??

My argument still stands Koulabily isnt anything neat €90m yet PSG would pay it.

City wouldnt budge on Maguire & Maguire wanted City.

UTD & PSG throw ££££££££ at it yet get away with murder, UTD have lent millions once again yet City get called out?
PSG spend 100's of millions yet prize money in France is what exactly?

Naymar is no bigger than he was in Barca playing 2nd fiddle to Messi,

If & a big if Koulabily does come to City it's down to the player & I applaud him wanting City & Pep & not the millions he would be given more at PSG & UTD

Wont be long before Naymar goes back to Barca & Mbappa fucks off to Real.
And yet, City has spent more money than PSG. Especially on defenders. So, if one should ask who is more likely to spend 90 M on a defender, City is the right answer.
PSG goalkeeper duo cost 15 M€, the left back duo cost 5 M, the right back duo cost 6 M (or 43 if you count Kehrer as a right back), then as CB you have Thiago Silva at 40 M, Marquinhos at 30, Kimpembe (academy), Diallo 32, Kehrer 37 if you count him as a CB.
If you were trying to think a bit, you would understand that PSG being in a bad economic surrounding (Ligue 1 TV right and average brand before the takeover), needed to spend big on offensive stars like Neymar and Mbappé to sign big sponsorship deals with Nike, Accor and co. and reduce their Qatar money dependecy. How do you think PSG got that very successful Jordan contract ?

Thus, how do you assume PSG wouldn't blink to pay 90 M€ for a CB? Do i have to remind you City is the team that broke transfer record on defensive positions time and time again ?

You are funny because wether you like it or not, City is a big money club. You are already sounding as snobbish as those Barça fans who are crying when a player chose to go to another club touting their "Barça or money" mantra.

Even more ridiculous to keep your charade when you were lambasting PSG in your fantasy world for spending 90 M on Koulibaly but if he signs for City at a 80 M price tag, it is for the love of Pep and City. Hilarious!

I have always found Chelsea fans hypocritical for criticizing City and riding their high horse while they did the exact same thing just some years before. I'm sad to see you are no different and not even self aware of your club.
