Kalidou Koulibaly

Belter, in last few days I’ve read some shite on here, the post u responded to is one, along with Messi not for me, KK not for me, Kane shit, Ake shit, Sancho let rags have him, etc etc, unfucking believable.

Tbh,whilst I'm happy to sign some of those players, there is the actual problem of real life, where it does actually make a difference, if you spend 120 million quid on a wide striker, then 500 mil on wages on one player & 100 mil on a cf & discover you need a cb who costs 60 mil.

You actually have to weigh up, the pros & cons of it & consider what else might need doing over the next few years & if you can afford that, as well.

Otherwise yeah, just sign them all, even if they can't fit in the squad, they can clean boots, etc.

slabhead had a big reputation as well, just saying

Not sure he did. Leicester fans were bored of him by the time United swept in. He'd had an average World Cup and an average domestic season. His reputation certainly didn't hold a candle to Koulibaly's.

So .. it might be on ...or off , and half of us want City to just pay ADLs ridiculous price of £90M & the other half think £60M is far too much . God I loves me a bit of transfer forum.

United are planning to buy a CB too. Calling it now - we'll haggle for a couple weeks over some bonuses, rag cnuts will swoop in with a 100 mil bid and 400k pw wage packet and ADL the bastard will happily open his arsecheeks for them.

I guess this is something we can do nothing about. Those morons will always pay too much for players who are not worth the fees. Targetting the right player is something we need to get smart about.
Though he is one of the top players in the world, going to Napoli for KK is not a very prudent move especially if we are haggling over a few million. Scout better. Get some rough diamonds instead of spending 50 mil on multiple players. Targetting Upamecano before he gave a badass quarterfinal performance or signing a new deal would have been wise. Quality of players don't change over a few matches but their prices skyrocket. (James Rodrigues and the world cup). It's like we wait for the players valued to increase manifold :P

I know this is half tongue in cheek but what's stopped united from registering any serious interest so far?

The problem with this is that by all accounts Pep and the board don't want an up and coming talent; they want an experienced, etlite CB with leadership qualities. The players with that profile are going to look like obvious/lazy scouting choices because if you're a CB who's expierenced and elite at the highest level, you're not some rough diamond hidden away at a smaller club.

Napoli not signing Marghellas will probably delay this even more now. Going to be the long drawn out transfer deal of the summer, there's always one.

I'm hoping City have a time frame on this on when it is to get done, We dont want it being dragged out for the next few weeks and all of a sudden end up with nobody. If a budding war starts for Koulibaly then we definitely won't getting him as we don't go into bidding wars and rightly so.

Ironic that our very own Arteta by stealing Gabriel under Napolis nose complicates this deal even further, like it wasn’t hard enough already.

For every passing day, we’re losing more time to complete our transfer business. I have a feeling this could turn out like last summer when the club tried to find a replacement for Kompany and ultimately failed.

Still, for me this signing would be the most important in many years because the defence is in need of a major overhaul and there are no better options out there.
I couldn’t care less about another leftback or Aouar, this has to get done asap and it’s worrying the club hasn’t even made a formal offer. We’re only inviting other clubs to start bidding for this guy the longer we wait. I hope Txiki knows what he’s doing.

There's been a thread on him all season but as usual, the bluemooners who watch RB Leipzig week in - week out decide that he's shite the very second that they concede a consolation goal in a 4-1 win over Augsburg.

I watched him live in January at Frankfurt when they lost 2-0 and he didn't look outstanding. Werner played as well but didn't look up to much. The difference is that most of us will trust that Pep and his scouting team will study Koulibaly, Upemecano, Aouar, Torres and anyone else who we're linked with far closer than any single poster on here and will know what they're looking for. They'll also know that like every single one of City's players last season, players can have an off day.
