Kalidou Koulibaly

No i'm not. The club has a realstic value and and I am 100% backing their judgement. The same with any player we are linked to and I don't give a shit if you are fishing or on the wind up.

So what is the club’s judgement? Spill the beans if you claim you know something the rest of us don’t.

I could claim I’m best friends with Txiki. Doeesn’t make it true ;)

I'm basing it on if we we were that interested he would be a City player by now. Or If we were that closer to a deal he wouldn't of played in Napoli's friendly.

I just said I didn't know why anyone on here would be arsed about whether or not they think we're overpaying and ended by saying "leave it to the club".

You've then just gone on a "well I back the club's judgement" rant.

Let me know if you need an easier explanation.

They have their value and i'll leave it to them and Koulibaly is overrated(especially at €90m)

I feel we need both Koulibaly and a leftback to have good quality options when rotating. If Koulibaly comes in to join Laporte at CB, we can’t expect Aké to play LB at a majority of games as we wouldn’t have a good backup to rest Laporte+Kouli. Mendy can’t ve trusted right now so I would axe Angelino and Zinchenko and buy an actual leftback, for not that much money. I think Tagliafico could join for about 20-25 mill and he’s excellent.

Once again, I'm glad we're in agreement.

Oh, who would have guessed that this is the point you wanted to make?

Out of curiosity, would you still back the club's judgement 100% if we now paid €90m for Koulibaly?

Because, reading between the lines, it looks like what you're really saying is "I hope that we don't pay that much for a player I don't rate".

I'll disagree with the decision but I still back their judgement. But its looking like they not willing do that and are going to move on.

Then you've more faith than I do.

If we don't sign Koulibaly because we don't find his price feasible then I won't take issue with that. But I'll wait and see what the alternative ends up being, if any, before I can say I back the club's judgement 100%.

Maybe an extra centre back with pace (Ake is a start)

Diego Carlos has bags of pace but I don't like what I saw of him one bit in the handful of games I watched.

That being said, as this window drags on, I'm leaning further towards "fuck it, I'll take him" but I think that's more desperation at not wanting to be left with Stones and Otamendi.

But he's being pencilled in to start at left back, we still haven't addressed the centre back issue and if we miss out on Koulibaly I don't think we've any other options.

He won't be left back with Pep being in charge. He is a pacy centre back and will be played there first.

Looking at Liverpool's defending against Leeds I'm not too concerned with our own deficiencies
