An average, injury-prone guy for 60M£, I don't believe.

up to 60. so it could be 45 down and 15+ which isnt in the realms of madness for an International starter. If it’s at that price that’s fucking madness. I know it’s not our money more a reflection on how much a pretty average cm costs these days.
Does the price change his ability. He's either a player we want or he isn't.£60mil? They're living in a dream world. What made him a relatively appealing signing was the belief he had a cheap release clause. For the quoted price we can do much better, he's painfully average.
Not gonna judge a player by Southgates opinion tbh as an example Sterling usually starts ahead of foden and grealish for England.up to 60. so it could be 45 down and 15+ which isnt in the realms of madness for an International starter.
Amended.Alan Ball was a right wanker…
Not our money and the club have not got many things wrong. I would be fine with the price. Not a bad deal, assuming that the 60 million is the fee, bonuses and five years of wages. That's the way our transfers are reported these days, isn't it?
My guess is that the player himself is pushing hard for us over those two hence this rumour not dying down60 mil is what they wanted from Villa and West Ham I think
They did the same with Ake and thankfully he rammed it down the throats of some so called Blues. So,in fine BM fashion, like Grealish.....this lad will start his career at City with some fans waiting to jump on his back at the first opportunity.
Cmon......At least allow him the chance to prove, either way,his worth.
Yeah, that's it. If he's good enough, then obviously you pay what you need to. But once the price goes to those levels, the number of players that are also good enough increases. Not our money and the club have not got many things wrong. I would be fine with the price.
However, we are getting into the price range that could tempt Dortmand to part with Bellingham.
KP down, now on to Cucurella.60 mil is what they wanted from Villa and West Ham I think
As he shouldNot gonna judge a player by Southgates opinion tbh as an example Sterling usually starts ahead of foden and grealish for England.
I’m not someone who is opposed to us signing Philips as I recognise we do need a decent back up for rodri but I do think this reported fee for a fairly average midfielder with 2 years left on his deal is complete madness. Especially as he won’t be an automatic starter just seems a bit excessive to me personally.
They did the same with Ake and thankfully he rammed it down the throats of some so called Blues.
But in the end the signing proved a necessity and he covered both the left centre and left full back positions. The slight difference with Ake was (mostly) people commenting on the necessity of his signing, where as this lad,or someone similar,is very much required to fill a squad hole.
Ake has proven a very good acquisition though, and my gut tells me so will Philips.
