I still remember when we had an argument about paying £60M for Tchouameni. And now we’re here for Kalvin fucking Phillips lmao
and I said that I don't think we should pay 60m for Tchouameni - not because he's not good, but because I don't think we need a player for that price for that position. I think we need a 30-40m player and i'd be happy with phillips for that price

Don't really need Declan Rice. Kalvin Phillips; even though it doesn't seem exciting it is the more logical choice

That’s not what I meant. I meant that you were outraged by the same fee towards a far superior prospect, now we’re stuck with Phillips, who worries more because we don’t do “backups” and I don’t think he’s up for anywhere near the demands. People’s memory of him under Bielsa isn’t of his good performances but rather this notion that he must have been quite good if they went to shit when he got injured, which isn’t true. It will be quite depressing if United get FDJ for a similar fee to us with this guy — like you said earlier, it DOES matter

Give me a break. That’s the other hilarious argument “not all players have to be superstars!!!” lmao I can’t do this

well, first of all as you can see, tchouameni is going for 100m, not 60m

second of all, I agree taht techoameni is superior, but I think with him he's worth the price, philipps isn't, and I don't want either of them for that price. I would take FDJ for this price because I think he's more versatile and can save us money down the road once gundo leaves

They play in exactly the same position? But one is a superior player.
Rodri is superior to both but really just need something different. I am not pretending that he is anything close to the next Andrea Pirlo but still provides depth that is currently lacking
