Scouting Philips on the off chance you may get a cut-price run at him, allowing for a cushion of bodies in midfield, if gundo decides to walk and still bag a De Jong etc is no brainer for me. Due diligence to at least see what the offer/need is, very much doubt he's first on the list.

Zinchenko could do a job there and he has a similar skill set and attitude to Phillips.

Would very much remind me of the Ake signing, he’s clearly never get in our best 11 (injuries aside) but I think he’d be more than able and would allow us to rotate Rodri better than we’ve been able to this season. With Fern leaving we absolutely need to bring someone in and At 25m it would be a no brainier for me.

The Ake link wasn't too bad to be honest. With that you could see what he could add.

Ake has been very much a backup player. Playing as a 6 is a different kettle of fish altogether

Put it this way, if Pep and the board think he is a good addition then who am I to argue, I suspect Pep sees things in players that others don't.

It does make me think about how the dippers always seem to find players who look average but excel in a system.

More down to the moneyball system and plenty of turd polishing and hacking our scouting database. Saying that they don't get ripped off too often so it is not though Leeds are (yet) asking for really silly money.
