I had the same argument "discussion" a couple of years ago on this very forum over the signing of Ake.
He started off slowly but over the next few months he showed why Pep and our Management decided it was the right decision.
Too many City fans had already made up their mind,that due to him coming from an "unfashionable club" (Bournemouth) that he wasn`t good enough.
Fast forward 2 years and we have the same scenario (and please I`m not knocking Leeds but unfortunately on this forum too many City fans do) but I honestly believe that he can/will become a wonderful DF for us and I accept Peps and Txikis understanding of what we need and the type of player we need to replace our wonderful Ferno.

100% correct. Most successful teams over the years have had their own versions of Akes, or Phillips. There is nothing wrong with having these types of players in the squad, playing 10-15 games a season. It’s just that most teams didn’t/don’t pay a combined £100m for them.Mate, I could join this current squad and end up winning a load of trophies.
