Very happy about this signing.
10m too much or too low doesn't matter for us, we needed exactly this experienced, PL proven, hard working DM, with great pressing, solid passing and a view for the pass into the corridor or over the defence.
He gives Pep lots of options as cover for Rodri, Kev and even as RB if need be.
Double pivot won't happen IMO as it weakens our offensive system and is counter productive for the key rotation of Rodri to be fresh for big matches,
but of course double pivot could be a very strong option to shut down shop towards the end of big matches vs dangerous sides.
Our depths is exactly what's giving us the edge in the PL and rotation is the fundament. It's like a complex machine where some parts are extremely important to save key components from overheating. The machine would be overloaded without those parts (some call them squad players in a negative sense).
In that sense, all players are 'squad players' and everyone is needed to achieve all the targets on our long list. And our squad management for minutes - including EDS - really has improved over the years IMO to find the perfect balance between playing and resting on the individual player's level.
Can't wait for season start.
