I don’t know why people get so worked up about us questioning possible deals. We CAN question targets and prices quoted, it doesn’t mean we know more than the club, it means we also watch football and look at stats and look at the market. It’s not like the club has never signed duds or overpaid before

So it isn’t about whether he’s the right player , just your random valuation ?
30M£ is acceptable for Phillips, I would never pay 50M£ for a player from a nearly relegated side who is not a top player :) Simple as that :)

But you can find a way better one for the same or lower price. It's like buying between Wolksvagen or Audi.

Honestly you and the other FIFA kids are wasted on here. You should be earning millions managing one of the worlds biggest football clubs. Pep could learn a thing from you and others.

Buying the likes of Phillips and Cucurella make sense because they would come to the club league-hardened. Similarly, both would come with experience of playing in highly similar systems, so it would take far less time to acclimatize than if we were buying from other clubs or buying from 'abroad'.

No, the club will go the distance if a player is someone they want, or are we really going to say that the club looked at Grealish and thought, That’s a 100M player? we can agree or disagree with the approach, and then make it a joke about “English tax” or how it’s always more expensive for us, and wonder why
Well the club wanted Grealish enough to pay what they paid. They will for any player. I don’t understand why I’m supposed to be factoring that into anything, it isn’t my problem.
They’ll buy the players they think we need and pay what they think is value to us.If they think a player is over valued they won’t buy him. Like Kane last year, they had a limit.

Why, he's either a player we want or he isn’t, price is irrelevant. Or should we buy a player we don’t want because they are cheaper.
We paid £40 mill for Ake, he’s a great 4th choice centre back, maybe the best 4th choice in the league, whose price I couldn’t care less about.

Yes, what a disaster it was to buy Rodri, a player who had never played in the PL, but not only that, was also playing for Simeone of all managers before. Whereas you can look at Benjamin Mendy who had played for Bielsa before. Not to mention a list of the current and past PL DMs who had never played in the league before.

He already has 19 England caps and one of the reasons Leeds were in such a perilous position is because he was out with a hamstring injury for a chunk of the season. Their results both before and after his injury are much better, suggesting that he was crucial to their stability. We bought Walker for around 50 million when he was 26 and that was 5 years ago, so it doesn't seem like a ridiculously inflated fee.

People get worked up because of posters like you who live to belittle people with your so called superior football knowledge. People are sat back playing football manager picking X over Y because the stats say so. No consideration if the player wants to go, wants to come to Manchester, want to play under Pep or in fact give two shits about Manchester City.

Under pay, over pay. I couldn't care less. I care about getting in the right player, much like Pep does.

People on here were crying into their frosties when Kamara to Villa was announced. I mean seriously. He's obviously not as good as we thought.

I've not seen anything from him to suggest he's good enough for our team. I can see him being ok purely as a back up for Rodri but he's not going to come for 20 games a season, mostly in the carabao and FA cup.

He'll want more time and I dont think he has anywhere near the skillset to play in one of the '8' roles so he's useless as cover for Gundo/Bernardo/Kev.

Happy to be proven wrong.
