Kalvin Phillips

Give him time. Bit disrespectful to talk about him like he’s a bad smell.

I hope he turns his form around and plays a big part, like Grealish did in his second season.

For some people, it's not about critizing his footballing skill anymore. It's downright personal hatred against a guy who i almost guarantee they don't know him personally well yet acting like him killing some of their family member or something like that to warrant such hatred.

Grealish and all the others actually played in their first season. Pep brought two academy players on ahead of him when 3 0 up v Burnley and hasnt got a game this season. What makes you think hes going to even get the chance to turn his form around.. he aint going to play because the best manager in world doesn't rate him. Im sure hes not worried about my disrespectful comments

And neither are you and a number of others it seems.

Disappointing from City supporters imo.

He’s a Blue who hasn’t done anything wrong, and wants to stay and fight. He’s fine.

Yeah and done jack shit
Injury at the start of his career here.
world cup disruption to a busy chrisrmas where Rodri would have got a rest.
said break saw him return not physically where Pep wanted him.
Rodri being the best midfileder in the world at present
Going from Jesse Marsch shitball to Pepball is a step.

plenty have had poor first seasons here and progressed, plus as fans we are not like the arsenals and villas, we back players if they are fighting to get spots not berate them

You know what...I've done a 180 degrees on the lad.

After reading certain players such as Cancelo & Palmer not wanting to be part of the club, I think its bloody refreshing for Philips to want & fight for his spot as well as our recent signings Nunes & Doku who all talked about wanting to play for the best club in the land. Seems like he's had ample opportunities to join other clubs but wants to prove a point.

He looked like he's worked on his fitness over the summer & far much leaner so go on lad its now your yr to break the mould over what quite frankly has been a disappointing tenure so far. Pep can be bloody ruthless at times & maybe he needs a bit of luck in getting a spot & playing out of his skin at the right time. As others have mentioned thought he outplayed Rice in the Euros a while back but I think the most important aspect he will need to work on is his in game ball awareness in & out of possession. He needs to be switched on all the time for the entire duration of the match with his head on a swivel - if he can crack this consistently, he may have a future at our great club.

That’s the spirit. Far too much fawning over players who don’t want to play for city. Yet Kalvin is trying to back himself to get into the team and just because it’s not worked up to now and he has Rodri in front of him lets all turn on the **** and rubbish him.

I didn’t like the weight issues but you can change your mind give the player a new start with a new season.

I am backing him to come good. Very refreshing that he is fighting to stay at the club and not walked out the door like Palmer or yapping like Cancelo.
