Kalvin Phillips

That’s like having a wank watching porn - you’re not involved but get the excitement that you are.
He played no part in his “medals”.
He can stare at his medals all he likes but he contributed nothing.
Nice lad he maybe , but even City make mistakes when buying players.
He needs to leave to get regular 1st team football.
And to resurrect his international career. Surely the guy can see his prime years disappearing down the plug hole before him unless he moves and starts playing regularly again. Reminds me of Danny Wallace at United in the 80s. Just sat on the bench every game and told everyone he was quite happy to do so as he was picking up a fat wage packet every week.

Maybe all these, post take over fans should be fecked off as well. After all, they didn't suffer like hard-core fans of the 80s 90s and beginning of the 21st century.

Some of the comments about him not deserving a medal are plain ridiculous. Phil Foden got a medal in 2017/18 and played less than 10 games. Didn't hear any comments about that at the time. But then he's one of our own, and Kalvin isn't

Some of you wouldn't have survived the 80s and 90s
Foden played 10 games and was 17 years of age - Phillips has played 10 minutes and is 27, bit of a difference there.

Sad as fuck that the same posters need to keep posting the same bile over and over.

No one is doubting he should be doing better, but to have his thread continually bumped to say the same thing is ridiculous.

Be the same sad sacks that pollute the match day threads. Thank fuck the window closes soon.

can he play left back?
Yeah, 'left back' in the dressing room!
Joking aside, it's perhaps telling that there's been little to nothing coming out of City to suggest Pep wants rid of him; merely the usual lazy media speculation linking him with a move away which, to date, has not been substantiated as fact in any way.

I can't believe that there are people calling out Pep, our greatest ever manager, about this issue. We haven't seen much of Phillips, but what we have seen has been significantly below the standard required. Pep has seen all of what we have and more to be able to make a sound judgement. We are not a junior team where all of the lads pay subs so should get a crack at some point. This isn't a fucking tea party, it's elite level sport where the pressure is so intense that every misstep is highlighted. Pep momentarily scratches his bollocks and it's an Internet meme before you know it. It's serious stuff to those in the industry and plenty outside of it.

If Pep is purposely not giving minutes to Phillips because he wants Phillips to take a hint then it's good enough for me. Every club, including our own, makes bad signings from time to time. One thing I absolutely trust Pep on though is his ability to watch players like a hawk in training.

We should not be dropping Rodri today just so we can be nice to Phillips. We should be ruthless in exploiting Arsenal's mistakes yesterday. A win puts us clear at the top by two points already. Let's have every other team feeling like they're staring down the barrel once more. Winning four PLs in a row might just be the greatest of all of our achievements in the past 12 years. If Pep doesn't want Phillips to be a part of it then that's fine by me. He's surely earned that right.
I'm with you up to the point where it's suggested Pep might be offering Phillips limited minutes as some sort of hint that he's not wanted. I think it's far more likely that Pep will take the direct route by making it abundantly clear to the player by way of a face to face meeting in that event. As you rightly point out, there's no room for sentiment in elite football.

I've heard it all now!

Scott Carson is probably no more an 'integral part' of anything than the kitman. He's on the books as cover just in case both Ederson and Ortega get injured, rather than exposing a youngster.

That said, he's supposed to be a big character and 'fun' in the dressing room...

Eddie Large was good fun and clearly an integral part of City's matchday coaching staff, but I don't remember him getting paid for it.
scott carson is ultra professional, there will be quite a few players who don't get the games they think they deserve scott gets them through it with his attitude, he isn't kept for a laugh, every club needs those players, he earns his money or wouldn't be near the squad.

we don't do things by halves at the club, everything and everyone has a purpose.

Don’t understand people getting angry at his medals lol. We signed him, we tied ourselves into the contract. It’s our fault, not his. Good luck to him.

Thats nonsense, the lad has not kept himself in peak physical condition for starters.....he clearly could and should have applied himself more.

As for the medals.....no anger......but i do find is behaviour, when he has contributed fuck all to winning them, very odd.Personally id be keeping my head down and concentrating on ensuring i did contribute to the next batch.

Carson is on a fifth of the wage Philips is stealing,he is also a link between players and the coaching staff. His presence is a big factor in our togetherness and squad contentment.

we see very little of the players compared to how many hours they are together. He could have helped in any myriad of ways behind the scenes without us knowing. A chat here, a piece of advice on football or life there.
