Brilliant passer of the ball but I thought his strength was being an aggressive, all-action midfielder with a bit of bite about his game which is the complete opposite of what I've seen. Think he's better in a more defensive set up where there's less space for the opposition (Southgate) than he is being left vulnerable to attacks like with us.

Instead he seems to labour about and only really excels when he's given shit loads of space but even then he doesn't move it quick enough.

Good player IMO but just not suited to us. We live and learn, an opportunity he couldn't turn down and has tried to make it work but his skillset isn't what we need.

Good luck to him - he's never whinged and has done his best. Just not worked out.

And look what’s happened to smith ! His name is dirt in Leeds and even his grandparents who were season ticket holders basically fucked him off . Can you imagine Phil foden signing for Utd or even rashford coming to us . Sonetines money is not everything

He was given the option but he thought because Leeds had gone down it wasn’t as fierce but believe me I know a lot of Leeds lads and have been to Leeds -Utd game a few times and the hatred is on another level .

I went to uni in Leeds. i know all about it! They shut the centre down when certain teams were playing at Elland Road.

I was at the Viduka 4-3 Scouser match. That was tasty around the ground that day.

Leeds pleaded with Smith to go to the rags as they were going bankrupt and that was the highest offer. Smith didn’t want to go, but did so to help them out.

Juve wants him but with probably zero loan fee, no obligation to buy (= they wont buy him) and us paying large part of his weekly salary for next 6 months too.

best would be if we can get a PL club to make offers, Newcastle probably most in need of a midfielder but doubt they would like to make it permanent either on higher salary.
