Kalvin Phillips

I meant in terms of his City career.

Many a player of 'average' talent hove gone on to have decent careers at top level clubs.
In our shirt he was shocking, simply shocking, he looked way off our levels and he knew it from day one.

Early days at West Ham, but his two cameos have been terrible, a player at the crossroads of his career.

And unless he wakes up and starts performing , a player I could see going over to Saudi in the summer for an even bigger bag of cash than he is already getting.

I wonder if that was one of the issues. Got his big move and thought he'd made it, rather than thinking that now he has to kick on.
100% for me, and for a player "desperate" to play, he attitude already at West Ham already is questionable.

Instead of having banter with the rag crowd over his waistline, would a top, elite player with so much to prove want to leave his mark on the pitch?

His confidence will get better. Imagine what it does to a person, psychologically, to be publicly battered for not making the grade following such a high profile move? The lad always looks happy but I’m sure it must have taken its toll.

A run in the team at the hammers and it will come back gradually.

Never thought we’d see an immediate improvement in his play, nor did I think we’d ever get anywhere near what we paid for him. If the current hope is to use him as a makeweight in some deal for Paquet (once cleared), then the scales aren’t budging in our favour as yet.
