Kalvin Phillips

Indeed.

There isn’t a single football club anywhere who gets all their transfers spot on.

Look at us down the years:
Roque Santa Cruz
Jerome Boateng
Owen Hargreaves
Matija Nastasic
Jack Rodwell
Scott Sinclair
Maicon
Eliaquim Mangala
Stevan Jovetic
The way Alvaro Negredo ended up
Wilfred Bony
Fernando
Patrick Roberts
Nolito
Benjamin Mendy
The way Joao Cancelo ended up
Buying Angeliño back and never playing him
What was the point in Ferran Torres, two good performances?
Kalvin Phillips
Mattheus Nunes has done nothing in his entire career to make me think we should have signed him for more than £5m to loan out to Girona, and he was about £55m and sits on our bench unless he comes on and just sits on the floor pretending to be hurt.

…and we’ll always continue to do the same, just like all football clubs.

Yet the amount we get right far outweighs all the shite.

Really harsh putting Fernando in that list. He did a job for us.

The rest were mostly a waste of time, agreed.

This list reads like it was made by an uninformed dipper acrapping the barrel trying to make a point about our spending that isn't valid. There's a good handful of names on there that we turned a profit on. What was the point in Torres? About £30 million profit in 18 months.

Using ChatGPT on that list, excluding Cancelo and Phillips as we haven't sold them yet!

Total Profit/Loss:

  • Total Paid: £282.4 million
  • Total Received: £164 million
  • Overall Loss: £118.4 million
We should be thankful as well that we recovered a fair bit back in transfer fees. Not many clubs ever do that.
If you really did use ChatGPT, those figures could be wildly wrong. ChatGPT isn't designed to answer questions accurately or truthfully, it's only designed to give an answer that "sounds plausible" to the user.

The octopus. He was good enough for us for where we were at that time.

I think Nastasic is harsh, too. Each ti their own though.

Considering at that time him and Fernandinho were both squad players and not exactly the star of the team, and what Fernandinho went on to achieve afterwards under Guardiola suggests to me there was more than a decent player in Fernando, but Pellegrini was at best a bang average manager.

Bang average? He won us 3 trophies, including the PL. Not to mention what he’s won elsewhere. That’s not bang average.

Its using Transfermarkt, BBC Sport, and various news articles so its going to be pretty accurate mate. There is no need to inflate any of these considering we still lost nearly 100m lol
