Kalvin Phillips

People will be going on about this goal 10 years from now hahaha
It's easy for people to jump on the bandwagon because Nunes is number 1 boo boy, but it wouldn't be nice if people would give him some credit as he's had to learn how to play RB on the fly in a team that had forgotten how to defend & when our supposed captain & RB fucked off to Italy

He's a footballer. Doesn't matter what position he's playing, hes still a footballer and should have basic footballing skills. Nico O'Reilly isn't a LB, but he's done a very good job there and has been solid.

Now your just being stupid & let's see if you can name a player who has never under hit a pass

Eh? We're talking about Nunes. You said it wasn't his fault he's being forced to play RB. I've said he's a footballer, same as O'Reilly, however one of them has excelled and one hasn't.

Is that you Matheus

Yet Nunes scored the last minute goal v Villa that probably made the difference between finishing in the champions league & not the Europa League

I have no issue with Nunes, I just don’t think he’s good enough.

A last minute goal doesn’t change that, but great for him he had his moment.

Are you seriously saying Nunes doesnt have basic football skills
Compared to us mere mortals he is light years away.
Compared to top level footballers, he is a way away.
The amount of fuck ups arent down to him playing out of position, they are down to him just not having a top level brain to think quick enough.
The pen against brighton being a great example

I dont have an agenda against any city player, i want them ALL to be brilliant and succeed. But im struggling where to see nunes will ultimately fit in because he aint an RB and he definitely aint a midfielder

Gvardiol made a similar amount of fuck ups last season and won our poty, are you saying that he doesn't have a top level brain.

If Pep was being serious about Kushanov not being the long term RB then I have no problem with Nunes playing as a wingback similar to Alt Nouri on the left, but that leaves Dias's lack of pace exposed if he's defending on the halfway line

Gvardiol didnt make nunes level mistakes that nunes makes oftenZ
Gvardiol is also capable of world class displays, nunes ismt

Silly comparison

Was at fault for first 2 goals v Spurs & 2nd v Dippers at home & played many blind passes inside last season so it's not silly but he's not Nunes so doesnt get the same abuse

Mate, Nunes isn't good enough to play for City in his specialist position. He only got to put his boots on last season because we were desperate for a right back. He improved as the season progressed, & I think those performances earned him a reprieve.

HOWEVER, there are far better specialist RB's out there, & it beggars belief why Guardiola has swapped our perennial LB problem, for a RB problem.

The fact that Nunes did OK at RB for the final ⅓ of the season, says more about City's poor season, than it does about how good at RB Matheus is.

Just like Kalvin Philips, Nunes will get games in the CC & lower grade CL & PL matches. Again, this isn't because he's a great RB, it's because we'll need to rotate & rest Khusanov.

Lewis has already made it perfectly clear that he's a midfielder & prefers not to play at RB or in the inverted hybrid role which Guardiola loves.

We don't even have a right back at the club, & even then Nunes isn't first choice to fill in. Pep would rather shoehorn Lewis or Khusanov in there.

The quicker we get away from this 'Can do a job' quick fix bollocks that has diluted our squad's gene pool to the point it's become unrecognisable in two years, the quicker we'll begin to progress & start looking like Manchester City again.

In short, we need a proper, world rated right back. At that point, of what use will Matheus Nunes be to Manchester City? Unfortunately, that's the long & short of Nunes' career at the Etihad.
