Kaoru Mitoma

People laughing about me saying I'd pay up to 80m for Mitoma and Caicedo goes for 110m.

I did warn you about this market. It went absolutely bonkers years ago.

In fairness, you have a fully valid point, and the Caicedo fee made me rethink.

Caicedo however signed a contract extension in March. Mitoma continues to refuse to. That's the big difference. That and 5 years age difference as well.

As someone else pointed out, in February Brighton were looking for 30m for him. That just doesn't jump up to 80m in 4 months. Might jump up to 40 maybe even pushing 50 with everything going on, might stay at 30. But 80m for a player in his situation is still absurd.

Either way, seems we are not interested so all moot.

He's playing very well. Shame it seems we're not after him in the end, I think he's such a clever lad, wouldn't have any issues slotting in with us and could learn so much from Pep.

Completely get your point about the contract situation... Brighton must be rubbing their hands together at the business they have done the past two seasons. Such a well run football club.

I doubt they'd sell Mitoma for 30m or else every man and his dog would be interested in him.

Still a moot point as we won't be signing him this summer. Would definitely revisit this one next summer though.

Brighton have probably made more in sales than their club is actually worth!

Well, probably not, but it might be cheaper for Chelsea to buy Brighton than keep spending fortunes on their players.
