Is Virgil Van Dijk in there ? He looks miles better than most of the other clowns to me.
No, he's not incredibly enough.Neville Kneville said:Is Virgil Van Dijk in there ? He looks miles better than most of the other clowns to me.

No, he's not.
Guus Hiddink is biased towards PSV players.
Rekik has been extremely average so far this season for PSV.

Makes sense to me especially as i think Denayer is the better player.

As long as it comes in the form of the unwanted and hazard-esque bakkali. There's a reason this kid's head has gotten too big. He really is going to be that good. Surrounding him with the likes of Aguero, Silva, and his country compatriot, Kompany, should level him quite quickly though. Worth the chance. Future Belgian core of Denayer, Bakkali, and Tielemans. Make it happen Txiki
Bakkali has been axed from both the first team and reserve squad. His behaviour is an absolute disgrace and totally unacceptable. He only played well for about 5/6 games at the start of last season and that was it.Neville Kneville said:Bokonon said:FantasyIreland said:Isn't it obvious how we could try and use him in a deal?

I suggested that deal a long time ago, but is Bakkali still actually alive ? He really did look the dog's bollocks but how long has he been 'disappeared' for now ? Bizarre state of affairs. Like North Korea reserves.
Do we know he can still actually do the business ?

Like the Juventus prospects but Fabian Scharr is really tested in Swiss Super League and the transfer fee would be too high. He hasn't been really that good even though he has champions league expereince and but look what real madrid did against them and then again their in the swiss league. Look what happened to Mangala although he has potential. Still imagine fabian getting used to the premier league.

Wonder what we'd consider selling him for.
Presente PSV, futuro City. Rekik, segnatevi questo nome. Ne risentirete parlare, anche in Premier League.
Shit translation but comprehendable.Factory of young and talented , the PSV Eindhoven is showcasing one of the youngest prospects of the Eredivisie as Karim Rekik . Who has twenty years and returned to Holland on loan from Manchester City . The club Cocu has a particular curiosity : the eleven players most used , the more ' old ' is Luuk de Jong , who has years of only 24. And Rekik is among the youngest , with Citizens who are enjoying a super season talent , second only used behind the twenty-three goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet . PSV Present , Future City. Rekik here, take note this name . It will feel to speak , even in the Premier League .

I'd have preferred Rekik having a season at a top Championship side, rather than in Dutch football. That way he'd have been a little more used to defending in English football.
It's one thing defending in Holland, it's a completely different animal defending in the battle of English football.
I think Rekik has a lot of quality and potential, even if he may not be our style of CB, but it seems like a bit of a wasted year.

I disagree, the Eredivisie is still better than the Championship, well the top teams anyway, and he will develop a much more cultured approach to defending which is what I think all young defenders should learn first before they they get into rough and tumble type defending.
He could be a title winner with PSV this season as well which will do wonders for his mentality.
I still think neither Rekik or Denayer are ready for our squad yet and I hope with them both impressing on their loans I hope they can move on to another loan in a better league.
I hope Txiki's connections can get a few of our youngsters loans in Spain.
Great analysis there mate.. lolEllisMCFC said:sam-caddick said:CityFan94 said:Is it fair to say another season on loan in Holland wasn't the correct move?

Their's only 3 teams that would survive in the championship in the eredivise PSV, Ajax, and Feynoord. I don't know where your head is at but the Championship is way better than the Eredivise and even the top teams to are better than the PSV and Feynoord but not Ajax.Only team that is better Ajax. The Championship was better in technical and physical skills.
