Keir Starmer

Well done on turning it down a notch by reminding everyone that the Tory implosion and impending super majority is down to the forensic skills of Sir Keith and Sir Keith alone ;-)
Of course it isn't. Yet it's surely to be welcomed that there appears to be a leading opposition party that can compound that defeat?

Is anyone actually genuinely excited at Starmer being PM?
Not really, but that’s what I want at this moment. A steady hand without all the bollox we’ve seen in the recent past, a Labour Party that will just go about their business behind the scenes without all the razzmatazz that we’re getting now.

It’s not Starmer I’m looking forward to, it’s what the Labour Party as a whole will bring.

My memory tells me that people were about Blair as there was so much hype around it at the time.
It’s not dissimilar now, it’s just there’s no money left to do much.

17 years of the Tories and 14 years of the Tories sandwiched either side of 13 years of Labour.

I know which of the 3 periods have been the best to live in the U.K.

Hopefully July is the start of stopping the rot the Tories have once again caused.

My memory tells me that people were about Blair as there was so much hype around it at the time.

Different time though, he came into power inheriting a very different situation to the one that Starmer will be getting.

Blair was perfect for Labour at that time. I don’t think he’d be doing any better than Starmer this time round though.

I don’t hide who or what I vote for nor why I do. Who did you vote for last time? Corybn? Now Starmer’s the best thing since sliced bread? Pig in a red rosette and all that - yeah you consider the issues in detail -“I’m voting for the red one”

Or perhaps you voted for the tories? Or maybe Lib Dem’s? Or Greens? Or didn’t bother?

He's voting for the guy who didn't speak up for dead kids, who brought Akehurst into the party and is now trying to stop foreigners coming.

All the things he would claim to be horrified about until recently.

The bottom line is this:

On 5th July we shall either have a Tory government led by Rishi Sunak - likely to be overthrown in weeks by some far-right loon - or a Labour government led by Keir Starmer.

That's the choice. All else is vanity unless you live in a constituency where the LDs, Plaid, Green or SNP have a good chance of winning. (Reform BTW won't win an egg cup.)

If I am given a choice between eating a low-quality beefburger or a dog turd, I'll go with the beefburger. Now, of course, I'd much prefer fillet steak, or lobster, or even haddock and chips, but they're not on the menu and the next nearest restaurants are in France and Ireland.

That's just how it is. I am not saying it's great or anything like that. We have to be pragmatic.

Almost a good analogy, fails like many before who still struggle for some reason(they don't really they are just dishonest and after years of moralising quite pathetic) to grasp the reality of their situation. So here is the reality .

I agree the Tories are the Dog Turd

I will accept Labour May be a low quality beefburger.

That's where your logic ends. You have no choice, you are getting the beefburger. The dog turd is floating away and won't be on the menu for years.

Where you are wrong is that you may and others on here have stated will actively go out and buy the crap burger.

It's gonna be delivered to you with no effort on your part. You could go out and put your name down for Lobster and you never know one day it could be on the menu or just accept it won't and stay in and open a beer and wait for the burger to arrive.

Unfortunately fucking idiots keep asking for shite burgers, a few even pick the dog turd.
