Keir Starmer

A village awaits your return

He turned up at the local labour party fancy dress fundraiser as Citizen Smith and won 1st prize for most convincing costume.

It was only afterwards that he realised they'd mistaken him as dressed as Frank Spencer.

I had the same thoughts so looked back upon his history. It could be power, that everyone is banging on about to dismiss his credibility, but seeing the reality of where he came from, I’m betting that it’s not the reason, more a means to an end.
If you look at what he said he believed to con the membership into making him party leader and his lurch to the right and abandonment of his pledges since it is clear what he's about. If you think this is just pragmatism and he's going to deliver anything but austerity V2 then I've a bridge in London and some magic beans you can buy. I honestly worry about someone that vacuous potentially having to deal with the likes of trump Putin and netenyahu.

He's weak, and weak people desperate for power at any cost are dangerous.

He wants the title, he wants the picture on the stairs next to Blair or Thatcher(either:-)). He wants the detached in Redhill. The audi, he never made anyone laugh, he never even got a strong feeling from anyone. The sad fact is him and Sunak will be quickly forgotten because they appeal to no one except their mums and their toolmaker dads

Ultimately we're never going to agree on this till we've seen what Labour do in power.

I feel pretty confident that Labour will be a huge improvement on the Tories, and I also believe, from everything I've read and listened to, that Starmer will be more radical than the last Labour government.

I assume we both want that, and right now I guess a lot of this argument is hypothetical. I'd be really surprised if Starmer morphs into Macron, but I understand you are a lot less confident, so it boils down to 'wait and see'.
Two cheeks, one arse.

If and it is an enormous if, Starmer wins and refutes austerity and employs Keynsian economic thinking, then he may turn out half decent, problem is his Chancellor, nutjob Reeves is a neo liberal, she hates the working class, imagine a Labour chancellor hating the working class????? She hates the undeserving poor and her securenomics is Osborne reborn

Labour under Starmer is a liberal left party, and the liberal left do not care about the working class left, He thinks he is appealing to the working class by being anti immigration, all he is doing though is making himself look silly. A middle class fool assuming what the working class think.

I am voting Count Binface, count on the Count, he is the only sensible politician in the country

The EU have been talking about clamping down on tax issues with big companies for decades. They aren't a closed shop or a capitalist wet dream. Any decade now they will make a stand possibly.
But what have the Tories actually done?

Interesting question, how would the ex-DPP deal with these people?

As always, I’ll put my thoughts out there and with the understanding that Starmer stands for socialism, I have no issues in voting for the party.

The question is, are you?
