Keir Starmer

This speech is true Blairite wrote by Collins, all it needs is a bit about invading Iraq and the wheel has turned full circle

Evoking Harold Wilson now.

Then says 5million people in low pay but he thwarted the £15 p/h minimum wage. hypocrite.

Why would a Socialist want this insipid drivel from him.
Maybe so we can have a Labour party that delivers a Labour government that helps people instead helping deliver of perpetual Conservative ones that doesn't. Just an idea. Unless it's just a fantasy Labour party you want.

As soon as he mentioned education and "saying it 3 times" confirmed it for me. This is a recycled Blair speech without the charisma behind it.

The Fatboy slim line will be his Jackie Milbirn.

I'd love to see that. However this speech is all promises without the back up.

Starmer wants to create a UK democrat party where him and MPs do what they fuck they want with very little scrutiny from its members.

in fairness, it's hard to back it up until he's in power.

I see the speech isn‘t going down well on here. I can‘t say either way was as only reading the potted highlights. The heckling seemed to help Starmer - will probably look good when cut into bite sized chunks for social media.

Not saying this is eerything it needs to be,or is election winning, on the other hand who should have more power the elected MPs or the paying members with their own agendas, there has to be a balance but currently those unelected members have too much power over those elected by millions.

Seems to me that it’s members want to be the dominate figure rather than the party itself. I’m not a member but can accept what he is trying to do.

This country does not want full on socialist, near communist, government, and that trait will never get Labour back in government. They have to get in and then effect change

Indeed.

Sunak will go for the "Spend their way out" labour trope next week whilst Boris does his usual stand up act promising everyone a free unicorn riding a bicycle.
