It is fucking crazy, there is an open goal there for Labour to say your economic plans were nonsense, you told us we had to cut corporation tax in order to get investment. Now you are increasing it so you were wrong and we were right all along. The chance to nail down the failure of trickle down economics is right there and Labour under Keith are doing nothing.

It is bewildering, Is Keith really in that deep with bug business he has to oppose this rise..

Remember Corporation tax is only a tax on profits and those who have made the most out of the Covid crisis will pay the most towards helping the whole country recover.

And many of us who have had no help whatsoever throughout this crisis will be asked to pay towards helping the whole country recover.

That's if we make any profit at all or even if our businesses survive.

Personally, I'll be ploughing any profit I make into a pension scheme.

Small businesses have to pay the tax n’all. A lot will be struggling because of the impact of Covid, a raise in their tax rates could be the final nail in the coffin for some of them.

I find many people forget that Corporation Tax is paid by all Ltd Companies, not just the big multi-nationals. It's as though they hear the word 'Corporation' and immediately think "Rich money-grabbing Capitalist scum exploiting their workers".

FWIW, I won't be voting Tory again at the next election. The way they've handled most of the COVID crisis has been pretty shit and I'm one of the 'Forgotten Limited' that they've excluded from any financial assistance. Starmer is starting to appeal to me more & more and I'm one of those centrists who he needs to attract in order to gain power.

Exactly. And corporation tax is a proportional as opposed to progressive tax, so everyone pays the same. The tory implementation will hit smaller business the hardest and Starmer is right to oppose it. He's said he's for tax rises in the future, just not now.
