Keir Starmer

This is the problem i have with democracy and especially FPTP democratic systems. In effect voting to stop a party is in my opinion negative democracy, i want to vote for something I believe in, rather than something that stops something I don't believe in.

I totally understand why people want to get rid of this awful fucking government, but is replacing it with something you do not believe in just as bad.

Would you vote for Hitler to stop Stalin, yes i know that is an extreme example, but the point stands.

Your point is nonsense.

Your outlook makes you as culpable as the dimwit Tory voters who slavishly vote for their masters.

You may think so, but my values are important to me and i will not sacrifice them to vote for something I do not believe in.

Although it was fun seeing kieth and his EDL style hired goon getting told to fuck off, the landlord does seem to be one of the covid denial loons.

I think he was a man pushed to the edge by financial pressure and not being able to run his business. To see someone who has basically not really questioned any of that and provided no opposition, sauntering into his pub for a press opportunity and to drum up his popularity cracked him.

Why on earth pick that pub? Why try to go into it? But how on earth did the landlord reckon Starmer was responsible for thousands of deaths?

Labour has wanted better compensation for businesses damaged by Covid restrictions. In the event it turns out the visit was agreed ...

"It is understood his visit to The Raven had been agreed with a co-owner" who later posted, "Please note. There was no intention by The Raven to hijack Keir Starmer's visit to Bath. Rod's opinion is his own."

The landlord was a man gone over the edge and he had seconds to give Starmer some stick before his security got him away and the opportunity was gone. Your ordinary man rarely gets a chance to confront these people so when they do it often looks aggressive and deranged because of the small window of opportunity. They have to provoke a reaction from the politician otherwise they'll just ignore them and move on. I'm sure I heard Starmer say, " I'm not discussing this with the likes of you," which suns up the contempt they feel for the general public as a whole.

Mankind is losing the ability to see shades of grey as we move ever closer to a binary world, where everyone is either with me or against me. It’s not a good place to be, leads inexorably towards authoritarianism, and polarises people over any and all issues. Discussion and looking at things from a different perspective is not allowed, banning everything and everyone you disagree with is de rigueur, whilst changing your mind is seemingly one of the biggest sins known to man. Worst of all, politicians are encouraging this behaviour as a matter of course. Worrying times..

Why post that, when you could have listened again? It's not clear but he's presumably talking about his wife working in the NHS "on the front line, keeping people alive, so I really don't need lectures from you about this pandemic". The guy was ranting about making children wear masks in schools - what's that got to do with closed pubs?
