As a bit of a stickler for correct grammar, the use of "was" instead of "were" and vice versa does annoy me slightly but I'm prepared to admit that most people aren't that bothered, and judging her on that without taking account all her attributes is a bit small minded. The fact that she was shadow education secretary is neither here nor there; she's not a teacher and doesn't pretend to be. She is never going to be leader of the party because like it or not she doesn't present the right image as she still retains a broad accent which is enough to put off too many electors, but in spite of that she is eloquent and quite persuasive in her arguments if you look past her grammar and accent. Unlike the idiot in charge of the country who can barely string a sentence together without blustering and waffling about vaccines. But he does it in a posh accent and dresses up in silly outfits so that's ok.As Shadow Education Secretary I was disappointed Labour couldn’t choose an MP capable of knowing how to use was / were correctly. She’s an absolute liability.
