Keir Starmer

You can go more to the left than Blair and have a chance.

Ed Miliband’s policies would have a chance, if the person leading it was less of a geek.

This is what Labour needs to be.

There's a lot to be learned from Blair (especially his 1997 win) but there's no point in becoming a Blairite party when we've had Conservative govs since then that have been more left-wing.

Doesn’t really matter. Labour are finished!

A new party needs to come out of this “The People’s Democratic Centre Left Party” for want of a better name.

Save for an enormous economic jolt, which isn't an impossibility, the next Labour leader is unlikely to be able to overturn that majority in five years, so it's not an attractive proposition for any future leader,

Not sure on that. BoJo has promised the deliverable (40 new hospitals and 50k more nurses are a guaranteed failure).

Whatever the working class brexit voters expect to happen post brexit won't happen. We will be lucky to escape a recession and the kind of sectors that will get hit (manufacturing / farming) and potential price rises will not go down well.

Brexit will not be a driver at the next GE - the fall out will. In the same way that a lot of voters moved this time they will be up for grabs again.

The question is to what extent do the Tories set out to mitigate (soft brexit / spend more on public services) or do they just crack on doing what they always do and looking to reduce the size of the state and cut taxes. If they make a move for the center ground then yes a tough task for Labour but all the moderates have left party.

In Spain the equivalent of Momentum formed their own party, Podemos. And after a strong start they now poll around 18%. Which under PR means they are currently trying to form a coalition with the Spanish Labour party.

I did think that my political views were best served by the freak events that led to a Corbyn led Labour party. Now that is over.

However unless we adopt PR, highly unlikely now, a break away Left wing party will suffer the same fate as the Greens, Brexit parties. i.e. plenty of votes, no seats.

Whatever the system we should not be electing MPs on a minority vote of those who bother to vote. I wonder how many have been. We need a system where MPs are elected on the majority, however that arrived at!

Corbyn has said he will over see the inquest and review of what policies Labour will take forward.
I look forward to voting once again for a LWNJ as party leader.

Agree with your points on Brexit, and as I said, an economic jolt is likely, and we can never predict its consequences. Think you'll see the Johnson shift the Conservatives to the middle, but simply based on arithmetic, I cannot see any prospective Labour leader looking at the next five years and seeing it as anything but an interim position.

That voting system is no better the Brexit vote proved that.
That system also Elects extremists and leads to a constantly hung Parliament
which would be terrible for the Country, look what coalition governments did for Italy.
