Keir Starmer

Yet in the polls that matter he won three elections. Go figure.

It may be possible that 15 years of drip fed negative press about him may have had an impact on his popularity, but at the time he was popular enough to be elected 3 times and his policies must have struck a chord with a lot of people.
Back-pedal, back-pedal.

Take a look at the trajectory in those elections and ponder on his legacy.

You won't of course, I was going to say I live in hope, but I don't.

pedal

Minimum wage, Good Friday Agreement, NHS waiting lists down, better educational attainment etc etc.

But no, it's his fault we've had 12 years of Tories trashing the country and winning elections with populist bullshit supported by the billionaire owners of the right wing press.

He just wrote that people who vote Tory are racists

Sorry let me clarify.

The conservative home office pursue criminal immigration policies that cost inordinate amounts of taxpayer money while delivering zero benefit and purposefully allow genuine asylyum seekers to drown in the channel to appeal to the many racists in their voter base.

However, not all tory voters are racist, they just tacitly endorse the aforementioned illegal policies and stunts the party uses to attract the racists and xenophobes.

Trajectory will always be down when serving as PM, you won't be able to please everyone. The fact is he won over a massive base in 1997 and cept getting voted in over 3 General elections.

As for his legacy, he's the best PM in my lifetime. People bang on about the Iraq war but at the time the support for it was pretty universal. Easy to pick out the errors in retrospect.

Fucked up the middle East to get a job as "peace envoy" which has made him very rich.

If he told W to fuck off I might have had more respect for him.

No point going over the past, it's done. It's the future I'm concerned about.

The electorate has a choice of Thatcherites on ket or a 90's tribute blairite act.

I want forward thinking politics now. Not leaders harking back to what they see as a golden age for their parties.

I’m pretty sure it wasn’t Blair and Blair alone who decided to take us to war.

His constant pole smoking of President George W. Gump did.

It shows how fucked up we are now politically that he looks like a competent president in this moment in time.
