Keir Starmer

Or bought in the lies he protected nonces etc.
Still shake my head over people who think he was/is [INCOMING BINGO] 'part of the Metropolitan Elite' so plumped for work class hero De Pfeffel...
Nobody believed that he protected a nonce, didn’t stop them using it as ammo though.

Only for sad, disingenuous cunts. Probably nonces themselves.

As one of many who have listened to Starmer over the years, it‘s been plain to see that he has the down to earth bloke about him. Nobody wanted to hear him though as they were either still angry with the Corbyn situation, seen him as the next Blair ‘Warmonger’ or were still to besotted with Johnson.

Nobody really listens until it affect them, that’s what we are seeing now.
I get that and I understand the tactic of keeping schtum whilst the other guy just self immolates and I recognise the difficulty for an opposition leader to cut through but I'm not sure it's exclusively people not wanting to listen. There was a qualitative difference between the session in question and most of the public outings I've seen/heard. Politically there's a difference between coming over as decent and coming over with warmth too.

The Telegraph put a lot of stuff out on that and some people who 'don't trust the MSM' saw this paper as highbrow and therefore genuine.
Reminded me of another 'Don't trust the MSM' UFO type who once sent me an image of a *UFO photographed by the RAF....posted in the SUN ffs.

*remember that Batman balloon?

I’ve always said that we need to see everybody as vulnerable, me included, and, as such, educate them to understand the truth.

Been doing it on here for years, mate. Still doesn’t work ;-)

I understand your point, but foodbanks are a symptom. Labour wouldn't have foodbank policies: "More Foodbanks!", "Better Foodbanks now!" or even "No More Foodbanks!".

People who use them know why they exist- it's because they have no money left after paying their their heating, or their rent, or they're underpaid - and they want to hear how their wages will go up, or their heating bills will go down etc.

The leader of a party has to be the one giving out the inspiring, positive message, and that's telling people what they're going to do to make a society which won't need foodbanks.
Having foodbanks to the extent we do, in this country, is a disgrace and a matter for shame.

Last Saturday's Guardian:

Trailing out of Selfridges with the unmistakable yellow bag dangling from the crook of her arm, Rita Waters, 66, welcomed Kwarteng’s mini-budget. While the VAT tax change won’t alter her shopping habits as a British citizen, she felt positive about the decision to scrap the additional tax on those whose annual income was more than £150,000.

“And it will filter down,” said Waters, who is retired. “It will filter down to the people who don’t pay tax but maybe they have more money in their pocket than the Treasury.”

As a lifelong Conservative voter, she said the budget will give her more to spend and give to food banks. “And hope the other people will as well,” she added.

Sounds like a proper ****.
