Keir Starmer

listening to people defend this is like listening to the Tory’s
We all know the Tory’s are horrible slime balls , but it turns out labour are not that far behind
Yep. Vote Labour we promise to be marginally less shit than the Tories. Inspirational.

It's an interpretation I suppose. Not sure how many people watching that will be nodding along thinking Lammy's played a blinder there and it's all part of tactical masterplan.

I'd guess a fair few more were thinking look at Lammy there shouting from the sidelines about a Tory policy while offering nothing of substance, bar a few vague promises and offer up the windfall tax as some sort of magic bullet.

and the polls have radically changed alright

33%....the state of this country.

The Tories get themselves in the shit on a daily basis and lie to get out of it then get found out. Why would you talk about your plans for the next GE when you don't know when it will be you don't know the state of the nations finances and you don't know the size of the majority you need to overthrow or what seats to target?

When your enemies make mistake after mistake just stand back and let them keep doing it - the Starmer v Jonson polls have radically changed - look at the Tories daily shit show and ask yourself why would you intervene and give them something to bite on?

You don't have to lie to answer anything. The smart thing to do would have given an open answer to the question that it could be considered in the future.

That's not a yes or a no and it's not the thumb squarely up his arse as he flaps on a response.

There is plenty more - that the Fail aren't telling you.

1/ Durham Police have investigated twice and found no wrong doing
2/ Starmers group at at 10pm - the hotel was doing food but the Raddison Blu in Durham only served food outside on the terrace with last orders 8.30pm and closed at 9pm
3/ To illustrate what happened the Fail are running an article to show how Starmer broke the rules - to illustrate they use a photo from 2015 eating a curry with a man who died in May 2019 in a curryhouse in London

I doubt he'd sue but Starmer with a good case for defamation. Or Durham police prosecute for wasting police time (if of course the Tory Attorney General authorised it).

He isn't the shadow chancellor it isn't his brief to make statements about, he should have just said that he would expect that to be the case but he doesn't set financial policies. No need to fall into the trap.

It was a gotcha question and he responded poorly.

It was not a 'gotcha' question. He should have said 'it's possible it could be considered in the future'.

That becomes one step removed, not getting into policy, not lying and not sticking thumb up his arse.

How the fuck do these people become politicians?

Staggering that people still get offended by Starmer yet turn a blind eye to the biggest **** ever to hold the office of PM in our history
I’ve not been involved but I’d guess it’s old wounds and the built-in loyalty once you’ve dug your trench. Nowt wrong with that and, for me, I don’t see too many protecting Johnson or his Cabinet.

Saying that, a lot of the Tory voters I know are using their vote other than Labour, ie. Lib, Green, etc, or Labour as a tactical vote to get at Johnson.

Will be interesting to see where we sit when the price of living starts to really bite on the middle earners?

What I don't get is the criticism that he's a bit boring, as if David Cameron won his elections by being Mr Charisma.
Some might see him as one of the boys down the pub, which he is in some cases but not in the case of those that have and will be impacted by his antics.

Says something when I lean heavily towards Starmer specifically because of his character and that I think he would be competent.

They're not offended. They're either verminous Tories or lefties who want him to fail, or those who really can't see a difference between shit and not shit.

Or they think Boris and his cronies are taking the piss big time, But also feel starmer and some of you lot are ‘not offended’ on a daily basis.
If it turned out starmer was at one of Boris party’s you’d all still be making up excuses for him

It was. He answered it but didn't do so in the way she wanted him to.

The next question is how do you pay for it. Even though the real world iof government finances sn't really like that, it would still get asked.

It’s a rung down from asking politicians about who/what is a woman. It's not his brief and it isn't for him to talk about

The opposition do not need the same level of scrutiny as the government of the day, that isn't the point of the media.

If my grandmother had wheels she'd be a bike.
