Keir Starmer

You know what, Chippy and co might have been right. This is absolutely disgusting. Our PM meeting a singer.

Of course the Daily Mail will go after him. It's a right wing newspaper; what would you expect? Pats on the back for him? The Mirror have done the same to the Conservatives for years. Is Starmer guilty of the crime of the century? Hardly. The bit about ministers pressuring the police into providing a blue light escort doesn't come across all that well, to be honest. If he wants to go to a concert using freebie tickets, fair play. I'd probably do the same (not to a Taylor Swift gig, mind). But looking for a blue light escort is a bit rich, though. I understand the security implications. But what's to stop an armed officer from travelling in Starmer's car?

The blue light escort wasn't for Starmer.

Swift had just cancelled dates in Austria due to a terrorist plot. She was considering cancelling the London dates too, and apparently asked for extra security.

Given the fuss about the tour in the first place, the fact that we've had a terrorist attack linked to a concert already, I can imagine the same newspapers blaming Labour if they Met had refused and the dates were cancelled.
