He said and I quote 'Why is it such a implausible suggestion to drop a striker who is struggling'

Depends on what your definition of struggling is...5 in 9...technically 5 in 7...is not even remotely struggling

5 games without a goal and hardly tearing anything up of late is he? Nothing wrong with suggesting a change in personnel when it comes to Iheanacho. It's not like he's shown he is incapable.

I never actually stated which notion I agree with or personally want, but it's not the ludicrous opinion that it's made out to be.

He hasn't scored for a month. Some people might call that struggling. You said yourself that "he's our Messi". Well if Barca's Messi didn't score for a month, he would be struggling too. I don't think it's all that comical to suggest that Aguero is currently struggling.

He will again have 20+ goals this season and whilst as I said earlier...I like Kelechi...he won't be posting anything like those sort of figures

So your suggestion is to demoralize him when he is struggling instead of helping to regain his form and confidence?

You mean do the same things we all bashed Pellegrini for when he continued to play out of form players? You don't play well enough and something doesn't work - footballers often get dropped. It's life.

I'd much rather see his name on the teamsheet at the moment. Either way, I'd like to see him or Aguero making more near post runs rather than pulling back onto the penalty spot nearly every time.

Kelechi has been looking to pass and move and generally acting on instinct rather than Sergio who seems determined to stop, turn and force the issue. You can see the majority of our players are shaken at the moment and seem indecisive but not Iheanacho and I really think that unshakable confidence can help us through this rough patch of finding teams hard to break down.

One things for sure Guardiola will not be put off dropping somebody if they are not playing well , so I have faith in him playing the right players based on their previous form instead of reputationk

How is dropping players how are out of form going to improve their form?
He may be burned out or carrying some sort of injury and in that case I agree. I don't see any lack of effort in his performance infact I've never seen him work so hard before.
I don't think any defender will be happy to see out of form kun on team sheet.

Looked really dangerous when he came on yesterday. Took the game by the scruff of the neck, and other than Sterling he was probably our most potent attacker.

Looking forward to seeing him start v the rags on Wednesday.

In the same way dropping Hart improved his form, and so on. It could be a boot up the arse, it could be a well needed rest or from not being 100%. There are always reasons behind changing things up, and let's be honest, we're talking about alternating our options because we have a fantastic talent who's playing and providing goals when he gets in the team, not dropping Aguero because why the hell not.

Really? He posted 14 goals in less than 1200 minutes of playing time last season, is the deadliest striker in Europe (vide conversion rate), already has 4 goals this season with a pittance of minutes plus 4 goals in 4 games for Nigeria, but you're saying he's not a 20+ goals per season striker?

Honestly... how do you justify such a conclusion?

We stand against the Rooneyfication of Aguero (Rooneyfication being the phenomenon in which a deteriorating/off-form player is retained in the starting line-up based on his reputation and profile, as opposed to current form and utility, to the glaring detriment of the team).

Pep will never do that
