Kelechi Iheanacho

Just seen this guy could feature tonight? Anyone ITK?

Interesting if true, I wonder what his chemistry will be like with the other lads because he has only played once with these lads and he lasted about tens minutes before an injury.

Big call from Wilcox but with Ambrose out we need a decent striker up top, we looked a little toothless against Leicester playing Celina as a false 9.

Yeah that was my thinking. Hope he plays anyway.

wouldn't Iheanacho be too old to feature tonight?

Actually no, scrap that!

He'd still be 18 yo on 31st August so would eligible, if registered.

Can't see him featuring tonight, i think he's played 10 minutes in 6 months.

I'm pretty sure that if he is eligible to play and not injured he will be on the bench. I doubt he would start and I think we will play with a false no 9 which isn't ideal. I don't think you can comment on how the other players would react to him starting - he's probably been in and around training a lot and there's plenty of foreign players in the academy I'm sure they wouldn't bemoan it. Makes more sense not to throw him in from the start as he's not played with the team much. As an impact player late on though it would be good - as long as he stays fit!

This might be of interest - from another poster on another site.......

Neither Kelechi Iheanacho nor Chidiebere Nakwali appear on the list of EDS players which I cannot fathom. Loan players, however long the loan, are usually there with an asterisk alongside. Nakwali is at Malaga on a 2.5 yrs development loan, he is playing in their ‘B’ League team and the issue here is ‘work permit’ rules. Iheanacho started a game for the EDS in March so goodness knows what the issue is there, although it is probably work permit again!

Anyway I digress. My thoughts turned to Kelechi Iheanacho when thinking about which players could step up to the plate in the event of a major squad overhaul in the summer but an overhaul in the aftermath of a dire end to the season.

A proper report/source......(hopefully accurate)

Manchester City's Kelechi Iheanacho Resumes Full Training

By SL10 - Apr 21, 2015 05:57 PM

Kelechi Iheanacho's intermediary has moved quickly to dispel fears that the Manchester City talent will not star for Nigeria at the Fifa Under 20 World Cup on account of injury.

The good news for all Nigerians, and the Flying Eagles coaches, in particular, is that the Golden Ball winner at the 2013 Fifa Under 17s has resumed full training with Manchester City's Elite Development Squad.

Indeed, Kelechi Iheanacho would have featured against Chelsea's Under 18 side in the final of the FA Youth Cup on Monday.

But manager Jason Wilcox had to withdraw him from the squad at the last minute so he doesn't suffer a relapse just as was the case against Schalke 04, when he had to be subbed off eleven minutes after his introduction.

''Kelechi Iheanacho has started full training with Manchester City's Academy Team,'' a representative of the Taye Academy product told SL10.ng.

''He was supposed to play yesterday's game against Chelsea Under 18s but was dropped at the last minute because the medical expert wanted to prevent him from suffering a relapse.

''All things being equal, he'll be in action when the second leg of the FA Youth Cup final is played on the 27th of April.''

The word from Manchester City is that if Iheanacho comes through the Chelsea game unscathed, he would be allowed to attend the Flying Eagles training camp in Germany.
