Kelechi Iheanacho

Columbus Crew reserves played a match Tuesday afternoon. At the postgame presser ...
Berhalter joked that Kelechi Iheanacho, who is training with the team until he can return to Manchester City when he turns 18, was questionable with a hamstring injury. That's why he didn't play in this scrimmage. Kelechi worked on the other field with a trainer throughout the game, while keeping an eye on the match.

Yep, he's ready to join the first team squad...

I though be training with the first team he just couldn't play competitive game as he hasn't a contract? He is a free agents and free agents train with teams all the time! Pretty sure he simple can't sign an official deal till he is 18! But the fact he is training elsewhere leads me to believe he will be straight out on loan?

somebody has written earlier here that you can't even train with EDS unless you have a work permit

Then why was rojo training with the for a number of week without a work permit?
He wasn't under 18, so the rules are different. It's not a work permit problem as to why he can't train with us, it's a FIFA rule to prevent child trafficking. (U18's from outside the EU cannot move to clubs barring an unrelated familly relocation, or something like that, I think) The work permit stuff is just a seperate issue that we'll have to deal with to get him.

We'll probably be accused of child trafficking in the media tomorrow (waves at all the lazy journalists with no story), we can't have liverpool losing as the top story.
