Kelechi Iheanacho

I pointed this out to @City_Watch, but just to reiterate as he hasn't mentioned it: it looks like Kelechi could be playing in our UYL game tomorrow. AfricanFootball.com posted the following regarding him playing in the African Youth Championship:

The 18-year-old player himself has called up coach Manu Garba to inform him he has recovered from a long-term ankle injury, while expressing his willingness to feature at the AYC.

The MVP for the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup, who followed the team’s recent warm-up matches in Ghana via telephone, told Manu he will even play a match for City reserves on Tuesday.

A source further said: “The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) are expected to liase with the medical staff of City to determine the extent of Kelechi’s recovery after which a final decision will be taken on this issue.”

I checked the UEFA.com site, and Kelechi is now listed in our squad for the UYL (<a class="postlink" href="http://www.uefa.com/uefayouthleague/season=2015/clubs/player=250081385/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.uefa.com/uefayouthleague/sea ... index.html</a>). With this in mind, he most certainly has received his work permit as he'd be ineligible for registration otherwise. I think he might get a run out tomorrow.

Yes, it looks like he will be playing.

It can only be an advantage because looks a very good young player so let's see how well he integrates with the other lads tomorrow.

Came on for 10 minutes and went back off injured. I am just reading text updates.. unsure if he took a hard foul or if this was a reoccurrence of his ankle injury or what.

He seemed to injure his ankle again, it looked quite innocuous but he gestured to be subbed as soon as he went down and wasn't too keen to carry on. Nothing serious in my opinion he seemed to be walking okay on it afterwards.

There was one situation when he held up the ball brilliantly but then he was too selfish as he tried another trick to go past the defender, while Ambrose was waiting completely free on the wing.

It is interesting because on the American tour, I loved that he almost always went for the ideal option; whether it was brilliand link-up play or holding onto the ball. Probably he was just trying too much, or he trusted more the senior players and off course he had a long injury and has new teammates, so hopefully it will just get better. Even in his 10 minutes or so he did some nice stuff.
