Kelechi Iheanacho

I know he's young and coming back from injury, but that reaction when he went down was embarrassing.

He was signalling to the bench to come off before he even knew what had happened.

Err I think he knows if he is hurt

It was very strange behaviour by the lad,he believed he was fouled and went down accordingly, yet very dramatically......perhaps he was genuinely hurt but replays suggested there was very little evidence to suggest cause.......after a lot of gesticulation and face gurning the physio managed to convince him to get to his feet, which he did before hobbling off.......he then looked to make somewhat of a miraculous recovery at which point I believe management had already decided to replace him, which they subsequently did.

Perhaps i'm being harsh....and he did suffer a reoccurrence of recent injury....although,i'm of the opinion the entire episode was just the act of a lad who made the most of a situation and didn't want to lose face.
wow really FI?
I have been through this a couple of times with injuries i've been under surgery for, and when you instantly feel something weird in that area, my knee for example, you get extremely worried and struck by panic right away. It wasn't worth the risk putting him back on when he felt uncomfortable with his ankle.

Hope i'm wrong Spinzer but that's just how I saw it.......Ive looked at the replay a few times and I just don't see how an injury could have occurred, thats obviously no reason to disregard one......also,i fully understand the psychological aspect of an injury and, like you suggest.....it may well have been the initial panic that caused his reaction.

The good news.......whatever the reasoning for his early bath,i believe he could well have played on after that 5 minute interval - so hopefully we will get to see him again very soon as even in that brief cameo,he did look lively.

I was watching it live and to me it looked like he 100% panicked. Was quite an emotional reaction. He then looked gutted to come off as he looked well up for getting on the pitch in the first place.

He genuinely probably thought he'd done his ankle in. I wouldn't worry about his head or owt.

He decided to come off.100% he gave the signal. Probably best to be safe but I hope he doesn't let it take over his head

He was injured. He landed wrong on his ankle & felt pain & then it improved quickly but when the physio tested him on the side, he was still not right ahen he tried stamping on it so he signalled to him that he'd better go off.

Why the fuck would you risk it if you felt pain when tested & you have just been out for two months with an ankle injury ? That would be stupid.

Celina was about to come on. If Kelechi had stayed on, then had to go off injured, we would have finished with ten men.

Think about it ffs.

Indeed. You have to be extremely carefull with theese type of injuries. I was surprised he even played so soon after an ankle surgery!

Many years ago I strained the medial and lateral ligaments in my ankle playing baseball.

No surgery but I was on crutches for a few months.

After that I had no strength in the ankle to stop it from turning over regularly, if I stepped in a pothole or something the ankle would go right over rather than with most people it would just be a stumble. I'd pretty much have an incident with it at least once a week for nearly a year after.

The pain when this happened was unbearable and on more than a few occasions I thought I'd injured the ankle again. But within minutes I would be able to walk it off and the pain would go.

Don't know how serious Kelechi's injury was, and it did look a bit weird on Tuesday but I can kind of understand it.
