Kelechi Iheanacho

Just looked like he aggravated ankle injury-nothing serious. Stood with the team watching the pens.

It's no surprise he may have been slightly selfish, after making a big impression in the summer he's had several months of not playing, having to wait for his permit to come through, and also a long injury, he was eager to make an impression, natural reaction.

Didn't seem too badly injured in the end and almost came back on, anyway it's still good news that we finally have confirmation that his work permit has been granted.

It was very strange behaviour by the lad,he believed he was fouled and went down accordingly, yet very dramatically......perhaps he was genuinely hurt but replays suggested there was very little evidence to suggest cause.......after a lot of gesticulation and face gurning the physio managed to convince him to get to his feet, which he did before hobbling off.......he then looked to make somewhat of a miraculous recovery at which point I believe management had already decided to replace him, which they subsequently did.

Perhaps i'm being harsh....and he did suffer a reoccurrence of recent injury....although,i'm of the opinion the entire episode was just the act of a lad who made the most of a situation and didn't want to lose face.

I don't think that's true at all. I think it's far more plausible that he felt something very similar to when he originally got injured, or something that happened in his recovery and feared the worst. Coming back from injury people are often on edge about re-doing it, so it's perfectly undrstandable that he reacted the way he did. Just look how gutted Kun looks whenever he even feels a twinge in his hamstring, you don't take any risks when coming back from a long injury

I can see where FI is coming from but, (for now), I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

I know he's young and coming back from injury, but that reaction when he went down was embarrassing.

He was signalling to the bench to come off before he even knew what had happened.

The phyio had him testing his leg at the side of the pitch, once he had recovered a bit, he tried walking on it, then a bit faster, then he asked him to stamp on it a bit, at which point he felt pain & indicated he had better go off.

Later he was stood up, & it appeared Barker was trying to reassure him it's probably not as bad as it had first appeared, so hopefully it's just a bit of short term pain & he'll be ok.
