Kelechi Iheanacho

Why are so many saying get rid if true? He would only need replacing with a £30-40 million striker who would on.. hang on... £150k per week themselves anyway

Because you can't let a new pro dictate your pay scale like this. Think of it this way -- David Silva makes somewhere in the neighborhood of £150k a week. One of the best players in the world over the last decade. If you give Iheanacho his second ever pro contract at £150k a week -- what will he expect on subsequent ones? You can't effectively start a kid at that level. They have to build up to it. It's an untenable amount.

Harry Kane signed a deal in February 2015 that raised his salary from £20k a week to £35k a week. He is still only making £35k a week. City's pay scale is obviously different than Spurs', but Iheanacho should not be offered more than £50k if he is given a new deal. You get raises incrementally. You don't jump to 5 years of pro experience in 6 months. If City give in now, he and his agents will have City bent over for the rest of his time here.

If true, then thanks for the memories Kelechi. His agents are high on something. He's not worth anywhere near that and this is just a case of his agents trying to get ridiculous money with little to no bargaining power. There's not a club in the world that would pay him close to that figure. Pogba, one of the most coverted players in Europe, is on 100K a week. A different pay structure but it's ridiculous.

Apparently they think he deserves as mucch as sterling. Aye, but only when you have been at it for a few years first! One season? 150k? have a word pep
