Kelechi Iheanacho

The lad has stalled a little bit after a bright start. I sincerely hope we get first option to buy him back and/or any profit made from any further transfers. You just get the feeling he will just click with regular football and could be another Ian Wright.

Why Ian Wright?

I'm not convinced he's necessarily stalled, I think he could well be as good as ever, but just isn't scoring as much because of limited gametime.

By stalled I meant in his all round improvement. His ball control, passing etcetera. I am sure if a club plays to his strengths which is mainly poaching in the box he will score 20+ goals a season but our style of play needs more than that and Jesus provides it. A loan deal to a premier league club would be ideal to see what he can do with regular football but if not we need a buy back/ sell on clause definitely.

So is West Ham looking likely? Read earlier that Leicester were very keen. Seems it's between those two and Southampton

He's already better than Ian Wright.
I think his movement, instinct and finishing are similar to Robbie Fowler. Maybe a little quicker but less imaginative.

You do realise that Ian Wright was really good and Arsenal's record scorer before Henry I hope. Add to that he had a decent touch so that alone put him at a different level to Kelechi. West Ham or Southampton is about his level at best.

Wright was playing non league football at Kelechi's age. No one knows precisely how he will develop but City would not be sticking in stringent buy back clauses if they thought he had an insurmountable problem with his first touch.

I agree with Cityfan. It's too early to tell if West ham or Southampton is his level at best. He will improve, and you can see he definitely will. I could see him at another Champions league club in the next 3 seasons.

This is BS.

By the way I think his 'Poor first touch' is a bit of a myth.
Everyone including even our great players like Aguero and De Bruyne mis control the ball occasionally.
Recently Iheanancho has usually had about five minutes at the end of the game without time to get into the game and on a few occasions has miscontrolled the ball. Watch the highlights reel from last season and there are plenty of examples of excellent technique and control on the 'first touch'

Talk about a poor first touch is largely based on a few examples at the end of games when he has not had a chance to get into them.
Fist touch is a matter of technique, nerve and concentration. He clearly has the first and has often demonstrated the rest even if under all circumstances it has not worked as it doesn't for every player. I have seen examples of 'a poor first touch' from Sanchez in the confed cup but I don't believe he has a poor first touch just that as with all players it does not work every time.

Completely agreed and secondly one shouldnt forget his age tp. He is far from a finished product. Westham or saints will be ideal for him and we should include a buy back clause

Good points.

A buy back clause is an absolute must. So excited to see him flourish in a starting role. He will score 15 goals in the league no problem, value will double after next season.
